Blutrasla Races: Cornige
Racial Abilities: Base speed of 20ft per turn. Dark vision of 20ft. Held breath: 1 min Bonus: +1 each to Speed and Rapport Deficit: -2 to Stealth
TRIVIA Horned individuals with a humanoid body type. Their horns vary vastly depending on which clan they were born from and their home environment. Horns do not start growing in until a Cornige reaches puberty.
Bipedal like humans, but their legs are digitigrade (think cat feet, not horse feet) and their toes are well padded.
Corniges do not have tails nor fur. They have hair like humans, though their hair grows at a much faster rate. Most older males have long beards they have given up on managing and find many interesting ways of decorating them.
Cornige have slit pupils that dilate when in the dark. It makes them look very cute.
Cornige skin ranges in hues of greens and browns. And their hair is naturally a pale white shade.
Corniges prefer living away from large cities. Horns can make you stand out in an uncomfortable way.
Speaking of horns, their horns itch like mad when the weather is dry. This is how they shed old layers and grow new ones. But it is still uncomfortable.
Cornige, generally, do not breed with other races due to a lack of… compatible genitals. Because of this breeding incompatibility, many Cornige have little interest in other races, but some have made it work.
Cornige females have wider hips than males, like humans. However, females do not have mammary glands.
Babies are born with large bellies with nutrient sacs within them that they use until their teeth grow in (at approx 2 years old) and they can start eating as the adults do.
At six months, many Cornige parents shave their child's head to promote healthy hair growth for the rest of the child's life. Some Cornige parents avoid this because they hate having to always shave/cut their hair, while others don't want to endanger their child. Many that fear endangering their child have village elders do the shaving.
Known for their history and need to adhere to tradition, the Cornige language “Cornigen” was the first written language of Blutrasla. As such, Cornige are a well spoken group of people. Generally. There are, of course, exceptions to every stereotype.
With deep history comes long-ass last names. Many “well bred” Cornige families prefer to add to their collection of last names instead of taking the wife’s or husband’s family name.
