The Cornish Chough
a member of the crow family, the Chough is unusual and striking with its spectacular red legs and curved bill. It is even depicted in the coat of arms of the Cornish county. Sadly, it ceased to breed on the Cornish cliffs in the 1940s and had died out completely by 1973. This is the year that Paradise Park opened, and have had some success in breeding the Chough since then and have since started an operation to re-establish the Chough in its natural habitat, to which they have committed £20,000.

The Raven King by Hannah of Old Wives Tales on Etsy
"[The] rather odd tradition... that King Arthur turned into a raven, or perhaps Cornish Chough..... a bird strongly associated with myth and legend. In Wales and the West Country, it was held to be a royal bird."
