New life! Saw a friend post about this so I will too! Spent the morning checking corn plots... we've had some wet cold weather this past week so it is taking a little longer for this corn to pop out of the ground. Do you notice anything different about this seed? Do you notice the red color on the kernel instead of yellow? The red indicates that this is treated corn seed. That means that it is treated with fungicide and insecticide to prevent insects and diseases from hurting this seed while it's in the ground and to give it the best chance of survival. Farmers have the freedom to choose what kind of seed they want to plant and from any company available. Seed is chosen based on its ability to perform and yield in the growing conditions that the farmer's land will allow. Certain seed grows better on dry land and has drought tolerance genetics bred into it; other seeds do great on irrigated land or soil that naturally holds more moisture.
