text: You doing alright? Haven't heard from you in a while.
[text: songbird] Yeah… Just had to lay low for a while. There are some people out there who would like nothing better than to see me dead, you know? I’m fine now, though so don’t ruffle your feathers and worry too much about me. I can take care of myself.
[text] If I said that I was wearing nothing but an apron and was armed with strawberries and whipped cream, how quickly would you come into the kitchen? ( >:} )
Bruno bit back a small scream as he read the text. Trying not to let his face flush bright red, he replied to it.
[text:] I-I don’t know?? Why are you only wearing that?
Leave a “Wed Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a drabble about our characters under the subject of wedlock.
It was just another sleepy morning at the garage. Jack was over at Cafe la Gren for his morning coffee, and Yusei had taken breakfast on the go as he stepped out on a job.
The air was thick with the smell of eggs and bacon, thanks to a certain mechanic by the stove. He hummed a soft tune as he cooked, dark eyes occasionally glancing at a bedroom door. So far he was undisturbed, but with a sweet sigh, he decided he’d continue and let Crow wake up on his own. The smell of food would lure him out soon enough.
Starting a couple slices of toast, Bruno returned to the stove, letting his mind wander as he started serving the bacon. The World Racing Grand Prix was coming up soon, there were things to finish…
He wandered too far in his thoughts it seemed, as the amnesiac nearly dropped his spatula when a pair of caramel arms looped around him. Bruno soon settled down as he felt a nose bury itself in his back, and with a smile he returned to the stove to finish the eggs.
"Morning," came the sleep-laden greeting from the redhead behind him. Crow gave the other a gentle squeeze as he leaned into his back, seemingly not quite wide awake yet. The actions prompted a small chuckle.
"Morning dear," was his soft response. The taller man soon finished plating their breakfast, and just after turning off the stove placed a gentle kiss on the "m" marking on his love’s forehead. "Sleep well?"
Crow murmured something of a haphazard “yeah” in reply. Bruno couldn’t help but find the little sleepy haze endearing, and before the other could walk away to get himself some coffee, he tipped his chin and stole a little kiss on his lips.
"Wake up," he murmured softly, "breakfast is ready."
"I can see that," the redhead mused, yawning. Slowly he was stuttering awake, blinking his gray eyes clear as he poured his cup of coffee. Crow’s gray eyes were so much more beautiful than his own, so lively and tingling with life. Bruno tried not to stare.
The mechanic passed behind him for the fridge, pondering what to drink for once as he stared at the contents. As he backed from the fridge with a carton of orange juice, he was once again abruptly clung to by the smaller male. Crow now buried his face in his side, nuzzling him a little.
"Bruno, I love you," came the sweet, rough voice of his love.
The mechanic set down the carton and slowly looped his arms around him in return. “I love you too, Crow.”
With eyes as bright as a puppy’s, Crow looked up at him with a wide, sweet smile. “Will you marry me?”
Bruno was speechless for a moment, jaw nearly dropping. The question was so out-of-the-blue for him, he didn’t know how to respond. Sure they had been together for a while, and were comfortable with each other, but where did this come from?
"C-Crow—" He was left stuttering.
Nuzzling into him, Crow tightened his grip. “I don’t mean right this minute,” he murmured. “Or even right after the World Racing Grand Prix. Just someday.”
That softened his reaction a little, but Bruno’s heart still pounded in his chest. Sure, his heart was beginning to soar, but there was a hint of reluctance. Crow probably felt that, the way he was nuzzling into him. “I—”
The redhead reached up and kissed his chin, tightening his grip just a little higher on his back as he leaned into him a little.
"I’d take care of you every day, help you get your memory back," he continued. Crow’s gaze softened. "Anything to be with you. I don’t have a ring or anything fancy, but… I love you, and I just want to be with you, Bruno.”
With a gentle squeeze back, Bruno once again kissed his love’s forehead. A soft murmur escaped the redhead in surprise as Bruno backed up, looking into his eyes. He couldn’t imagine not spending his life with Crow at this point, despite his circumstances; they were so cozy and sweet with each other every morning, especially alone like this…
He took a deep, quiet breath, smile spreading across his face.
"I love you too, Crow." Somehow his voice sounded softer than before. "And… Yes, I will.”
Immediately upon hearing his answer, Crow’s face broke into the most undeniably happy smile Bruno had ever seen, gray eyes alive with emotion— and before he knew it, he was faced with a plethora of kisses. Bruno minded none, picking up the smaller male and settling with him on the couch, tangling himself with his love and returning the affection. The mechanic pulled the him into such a tight position that their heartbeats were against each other, running his fingers through messy, soft orange bedhead.
"We should be eating breakfast," he murmured as the kisses finally slowed.
"That can wait," Crow replied before pressing another kiss to the taller’s lips. "I’m not done with my appetizer here."
“Crow…" The mechanic mused, weaving a playful whine into his tone.
Crow chuckled and kissed him again. “Next time, I cook breakfast.”
[text] Make sure you’re alone- I don’t want anyone else seeing what I’m about to sent you (-slings another one-)
Rex flushed a bright red, looking around as if he wasn’t sure he was alone… What could Crow possibly be sending that he didn’t want anyone else to see?
