6220 Coronation stands at Euston after working the press run for the Coronation Scot on June 29th 1937. The press run certainly showed what the Coronations could do. On the outbound run to Crewe, Coronation set a new British speed record of 114mph down Whitmore Bank and on the return journey, she maintained an average speed of 79mph over the 158 miles between Crewe and Euston.

Probably the first time ever i drew a train that is not from Indonesia, maybe because i've been listening to too much Coronation scot recently that i decided to draw one of the locomotives used for the train, that is Duchess of Hamilton (even though her actual livery colour is red but i decided to probably change it to blue for this drawing 😅). I guess this is also my second time drawing a steam locomotive since most of the time i drew diesel locomotives or electric trains (mostly commuter trains).
I think maybe i'll add the music that made me interested in this locomotive in the first place :

In 1939 no. 6229 Duchess of Hamilton swapped identities with the first of the class 6220 Coronation and was sent from London to North America with a specially-constructed Coronation Scot train to appear at the 1939 New York World's Fair
