Welp. The local hospital (3 blocks away) just got its first confirmed cases. The city’s response:

Honestly, my biggest concern is that they might close down schools and send the Yanks home over this. I’d rather risk getting a bad cold here than go back to America. 

I won’t lie, it’s interesting to watch people panic over a bad cold. I’ve already accepted that we’re both likely to get it. We’re kindergarten teachers. We get every germ in a 300-meter radius.

Our neighbors literally bought us toilet paper and flushable wipes. Like how nice is that?!

Is there a tag for like...graphic covid-19 description stuff? I’m totally fine with people saying “hey this virus exists” or “hey maybe let’s not open right away” but I’d really rather not read about parents wanting to hold their kids’ bodies after dying from it and how young people think they’re getting better right before they die suddenly thanks

God, of course the multi-level marketing hawkers are taking advantage of the coronavirus panic. "Buy these doTerra essential oils! They'll prevent the virus!" or "Buy my Herbalife nutritional supplements! They'll boost your immune system and protect you!" I don't see anyone panic-buying that overpriced pyramid scheme garbage, of course.
