Caeneus with his son Coronus

Been looking up Caeneus and his mythology and he’s like… the coolest guy to ever exist, seriously, he’s right up there with Perseus as one of my favorite Greek Heroes. Hope he gets a good adaptation someday.

In mythology, Caeneus had a son named Coronus and they were both Argonauts, but no mother is mentioned, so I like to think that perhaps he’s an orphan he adopted then I had the idea to draw Caeneus with the same height/body type as Wolverine, who is also a strong dude who likes to adopt orphans.

It’s peculiar that Caeneus has several named sons but no wife/lover mentioned. It could be that her name is lost to time but it’s infinitely funnier to think he loves his spear too much to think of marriage and that his sons are just random kids he adopted.
