“Somehow... I don’t think we’ll have to worry about that.” Now that everything was over, it... Something about it Iris could just sense. A faraway feeling that getting in touch with Dahlia would be a lot more challenging of an effort, should anyone dare to try it. It was a conflicting feeling... Relief that perhaps- if such a feeling were true- that nobody would suffer again at her sister’s hands. Yet a bittersweetness, too...that Iris would never see her sibling again at last.
Missing her, yet not wanting her back at the same time... It’s a difficult thing to come to terms with.
“...Huh?” Iris hadn’t expect that shift of topic, staring up at Phoenix a moment before her face burned into a bright pink, eyes averting as her embarrassment grew.
“O-Oh... Y-Yes. It started out as me just wanting...to protect you. She sounded so worked up when she called me that first time, but... I didn’t want her to get into more trouble than she already was in. Trying to help her from doing something harmful and protect you in the process...
“...But you were incredibly sweet. Your enthusiasm at everything you did, how excited you got at even a kiss on the cheek...eating together with you at lunch. It all...quickly became very special to me.”
