Happens to me with people too, but the way I look at it, any sort of relationship takes effort from both sides.

True, and that’s usually what I try to tell myself in my head to make me feel better about being a shitty friend, like “Well, they haven’t attempted to get in touch with me either....” but it still doesn’t stop me from being wracked with guilt and self-loathing =(
