What theories of yours have turned out right about the show, in some form or other, in past seasons?
kind of a lot, but they became obvious after a while sometimes, so don’t seem all that impressive, also sometimes i’d get part of it right but not something else? like i was often off on the time frame because i didn’t realize it was a seven season story.
But after 3.05 when the whole fandom, was certain Bellarke was dead and CL was endgame I was like, wait up. Bellarke are endgame. They’ve been shown as the head and the heart and that means that in order to succeed, they have to be together. That’s the only way they can succeed, as people and as leaders. I said that Bellarke was the backbone of the story and that they were soulmates. This has all been confirmed by seasons and JR, although romantic endgame is still coming. I was wrong about how long it would take to get there, but it’s never been killed and the development has ALWAYS headed towards romance, getting closer every years.
I also said that there was a mythic quality to the story, and it was about rebirth and redemption, and then we got the whole from the ashes mythos coming. I also said that it was a kind of replay of Dante’s inferno in season 3, and then as time went on I said that it was the whole Divine Comedy. These stories have been tracking with those stories.
I said that Bellarke was actually following a storyline like Elizabeth and Darcy in Pride and Prejudice and that’s still tracking.
I said that Bellamy’s story in season 3 was pike and kane fighting over his soul and he would become a hero--NOT that he was being made into a villain. And I said that Clarke’s story in Polis was a dark psychological journey of ptsd-- NOT a beautiful endgame love story with L as the hero.
Right before s3 finale when we all thought everyone was going to die I suddenly realized that the twist would be that no one would die and everyone would get out of the COL alive.
Oh right. Before season 4, I speculated that they would use cryogenics to save themselves from praimfaya. I was off by a season, but I came up with that theory before the season even started. And then I said that it probably wouldn’t be ONE answer, but multiple answers, like a bunker AND cryo AND nightblood AND space.
When we found out about the time jump, I said that Clarke would have a child. I guessed that it would be bellamy’s but instead it was Madi’s. Because the “mother and child” concept was important and it would also give her something to live for while isolated.
I predicted that s5 would give us a B/C/E love triangle. That Octavia would have a terrible time in the bunker.
In season 5 I said that Clarke and Bellamy would win the battle but lose the war and take their people out of Eden into the “desert” which as the season went on became space. JR said that someone would have a happy ending, the 100 style, and I imagined Kabby or Bellarke leaving the team and going off in their own, like in the woods to have a quiet life. And in the end it was Marper who did that but not in the woods, in space.
I predicted that Russel and Co would be villains, a replay of CW, that there would be slaves and rebels in the woods. That Russell would be a father figure. That Clarke would be off in the woods and Bellamy would have to go save her, but I thought it would be with the team. I think I predicted Clarke would have multilpe avatars instead of one body with multiple personalities.
I think there’s more but I can’t recall right now. I have a tendency to be off on timing, or I used to be. Because I saw things for the WHOLE story that I’d expect to be finished in one season. And I also see no reason to keep bellarke apart, but JR obviously does.
I mean that’s mostly predictions, which are just guesses. I think I’m better at analysis. But sometimes it takes a while for the analysis to be proved right if we haven’t gotten to the end of the story.
