End of last year @sorianamaskar messaged be about doing @ultra.caballo.blanco. I was stoked just not sure I could…The weekend was free and I was like this is one of those things you cannot say no. I was in no shape to do the 80K but thought by then I could go for the 42K (marathon). Sharing my trip and amazing experience. This came from reading Born2run by Christopher McDowell. Highly recommend to read! I needed something to get me back on track and think this just gave that motivation back. I packed my back up for the week. That was tough trying to fit in racing gear, clothes, running clothes, toiletries and a few donations (socks and stickers). We were advised not to over pack, that we could wear clothes more than once 😖 and I did 😂 I flew to El Paso, Texas from California on Thursday. Check out my encounter with 🦓 & 🦒 (so cute!). We met a few runners from the group for dinner. Come Friday at 5:30 am, the group headed to the Mexico border, about a 20 min drive. We crossed the border on foot, obtained a week VISA and met a 2nd driver on the border to start our 14-hour drive over hilly, and bumpy roads 😂 Jessica said we were going to be “pollitos”, 🐥 I would say we were more like “caballitos”🐎 😆 … fun times, just tiring 🚘 Part 2 coming up. 🙃 #caballoblanco #borntorun #runfree #correlibre #travel #mexico #texas #roadtripping #driving #journey #yolo (at El Paso, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbN36TYPHO1/?utm_medium=tumblr
