who’s the werewolf and who’s the hunter farmerBilly is a lonely farmer / sheep rancher whose property sits on the edge of a dark wood. He tries to avoid going into the forest, for there are no paths and it’s difficult to navigate, but of course sheep sometimes wander off. While searching for a missing member of his flock, he becomes lost and, with darkness falling, worried that he might not make it back home. Luckily for him his property and flock have been watched over for a very long time by an equally lonely wulver. Collins makes his presence known and guides Billy home, and accepts an offering of dinner as repayment for his kindness.
who’s the mermaid and who’s the fishermanCollins is the fisherman and Billy is his selkie husband. When Billy washed up on the shore, Collins looked after him until he was well and only kept his coat from him until he needed it (he didn’t want Billy injuring himself by leaving too soon), but gave it back as soon as Billy was able to leave. Unlike regular tropes, Billy willingly married him and Collins allows Billy to come and go from the ocean as he pleases. They often fish, swim, and most importantly share their love of the sea together.

who’s the professor and who’s the TA other professorCollins and Billy are both diving instructors who share a lot of students and will sometimes just combine their classes to make things easier (you don’t have to fight over who gets time at the pool / diving spot if you both just share it)
who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss)Shy and gentle Prince Collins has a hard time paying attention to his potential suitors when the charming knight Orren is around. Since he’s a prince he has a bit more privilege to roam around, and he uses that freedom to go on little adventures with Orren.
who’s the teacher and who’s the single parentCollins is the local swimming instructor who teaches little kids at the pool. Billy could very easily teach his son himself, but he’s got a bit of a crush on the instructor and the boy doesn’t seem to mind being taught by Collins so it’s a win-win. ;3c
who’s the writer and who’s the editorI like the idea of Collins being the author of a small diving journal. He stays up so late working on it (plus his depression makes him spacey) so Billy has to constantly go back through and make sure everything is spelled correctly. Collins thanks him about a million times per beta read.
