Episode Title: Sometimes You Must Meet To Understand
MY 20 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 127 (manga chaps 203 and 204):
Omg I love this episode so much. I love this arc so much! I miss Kagura but I still really love this arc.
1) It was nice of Gin-chan to make Shinpachi feel better.
2) Of course I am not surprised at all that Kondou would just suddenly pop out, nor am I the least bit surprised that he’s spent days underneath the house. He probably lives throughout Otae’s house 90% of the time.
3) I did notice that Shinpachi didn’t deny him at all this time.
4) Kondou really has a shitty opinion of our beloved Yorozuya’s humble abode.
5) Putting aside all the horniness for Otae (from her own brother), Kondou’s letter really wasn’t bad at all.
6) This realistic beauty vision of Otae, courtesy of Kondou, was not in the manga.
7) Gin-chan picking his nose and examining the treasure he dug out was an extra touch by the anime team.
8) And then, all of a sudden, what was already a wonderful arc instantly became SUBLIME.
9) I love that the regulations bureau won’t allow the anime team to broadcast anything against different blood types but is completely ok with Hijikata bagging on women. I still want to know what girl did that to him to give him such a negative outlook on women.
10) This convo was a little different in the manga, and I love the changes because Gintoki was so encouraging to Hijikata.
11) Obviously Gin-chan has never written a love letter...and probably has never spoken to a proper lady. Lmao.
12) I’m sure he was still thinking about Tae-chan.
13) Nice view of my boys. That’s all. Wasn’t in the manga.
14) Their stunned reaction to Hijikata’s letter-writing prowess.
15) Just loved how they fanboyed over Toshi.
16) Never thought Hijikata would be one to be so careless but I guess his flaws just make him that much more lovable.
17) I loved that they were freaking out over what response Shinpachi would get because of Hijikata’s mistake, but I also wondered how long did they stay at his house considering it had to take time for the letters travel. Really love the idea that they were just living there together for the time being.
18) I don’t think I’ve ever swooned over Shinpachi, but I did this time.
19) At first I couldn’t figure out why Kondou was so harsh on basically Gin-chan and Kagura considering they saved him and the Shinsengumi during the Crisis arc, and then I realized Kondou probably still thinks on some level that there’s something going on between Gintoki and Tae-chan.
20) Another little extra touch from the anime team.
SHIPS TALLY:
Gintoki x Hijikata: unlike how it was in the manga, they actually had a few scenes where they interacted and were close to each other. Hell yes I’m gonna count all of that.
Kondou x Otae: I don’t believe Kondou ONLY lusts after Tae-chan... but I’m sure he feels a healthy degree of sexual attraction to her, as he should.
Shinpachi x Kirara: I was really so happy that Pachi-kun had potentially hit the jackpot.
Gintoki x Okita: Gin-chan obviously really admires Sougo’s good looks.
Gintoki x Shinpachi: self-explanatory I think.
Shinpachi x Otae: this was Kondou’s fault.
I was thinking of including Okita and Urara, but since they barely just met and were just talking, I’ll save it for the next episode. Btw, I keep on getting the two sisters’ names switched. It’s like a mental block, I never remember which name goes to who as soon as I finish reading the chapter or watching the episode. I messed it up this time as well so I had to come back in and edit my post. Lol.

MY 15 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 126 (manga chap 203):
I LOVE THE CORRESPONDENCE ARC!!!!
1) Dear Takachin. He looked so joyous dancing to Otsuu’s song. Love that they danced to the entirety of the song too.
2) I think every time Pachi-kun goes into near aneurysm mode like that, I’m gonna love.
3) This was such a sweet and cute scene: Gin-chan rubbing Kagura-chan’s head as he talked about Shinpachi growing up and out of his family. For once he wasn’t even trying to wipe his boogers on her either.
4) Gintoki slowly pushing Kagura out of the way so he could talk about Shinpachi’s self pleasuring was also sweet and adorable.
5) Gintoki being a real helpful bro.
6) Omggggg (although the bottom one, stringy konjac, I don’t really get cuz wouldn’t that be a mess? That wasn’t in the manga).
7) Gintoki eating Shinpachi’s apple pie.
8) ok, they did Kagura and Kyuu-chan totally dirty. They looked freaking cute as old ladies, not like that.
9) It’s a dated look but not bad for Shinpachi at all.
10) Gintoki just looked so damn cute in that moment!!!
11) Lmao.
12) With all due respect to Pachi-kun, this is the best Shinpachi.
13) I was so happy for Shinpachi that he wasn’t be catfished and his penpal was a total beauty.
14) Best profile pic ever.
15) I love the anime team sometimes...most of the time...just not when they cut out scenes I love.

Gintoki x Shinpachi: Gintoki was being so supportive, and Pachi-kun was holding onto him there for a pretty long time.
Gintoki x Okita: I think Gin-chan thought Sougo was the best version of Shinpachi too (sorry Pattsuan).
