Last week I finally had the chance to see Hamilton at the SHN Orpheum Theater in San Francisco. Given that it was a matinee, we decided to grab a bite beforehand so that my grumbling stomach wouldn’t disturb the magic happening on stage. Doing a quick online search for places nearby, I came across @Corridor_SF. Located just a few blocks from the theater -- at 100 Van Ness (A former office building that has been converted to high rise apartments) -- the menu looked like an eclectic mix of contemporary American fare with touches of Italian and Middle Eastern. Let the adventure begin! Breakfast is served from opening until 11:00 and Lunch from 11:30 - 2:00. (There is also dinner service and brunch on Saturdays). Since we had managed to get to the restaurant early we ordered from the breakfast menu. The Pressed Cuban Sandwich (Marinated Pork, Swiss Cheese, Pickles, Mustard, Sourdough, $10) was good and toasty. There were nice flavors in the sandwich plus the addition of sourdough bread in place of the Cuban Bread you would usually find on a Cuban Sandwich. The star of the meal easily had to be the Butter Fried Pancake (European Style Butter, Maple Syrup, Seasonal Fruit, $11). This was a thick, light, airy confection with blueberries and lots of buttery goodness. The texture seemed, to me, like a cross between a Japanese souffle pancake and a very light quick bread. I’m pretty sure whipped egg whites had to be involved in the making. Regardless, the pancake in and of itself is worth a trip to the West Bay. #SWSEats #EatLocal #CorridorSF #Pancake #CubanSando #WestBay (at Corridor Cafe SF) https://www.instagram.com/p/B15is78hFZ4/?igshid=1t72kmnjq119m
