Where Are They Now...
ft. my soccer girls
Dan
After adopting Chandler from Zambia, Africa, Dan played soccer for four more years. Then she got married to Meredith after an awkward meet-up with the very straight-laced Kole family (but she got out of it by mentioning unmarried Lilly’s sexual tendencies). Afterwards she decided to retire at the fairly young age of 26 as she wanted to dedicate most of her time to young Chandler. Danielle became a stay-at-home soccer mom, teaching Chandler all her soccer skills while Meredith pursued her music career and went to therapy in order to cope with her social anxiety and stage fright. Mere went on to be pretty successful but when she turned 23, Dan was 28, she decided to quit recording and go to school to become a studio manager. She and Dan then opened up their own recording studio (Chandler Inc.) in LA, CA. At this time Chandler was six, thus the two studio managers happily settled down in LA and raised their son.
Chandler went to Cal Berkley and has yet to decide a major. But is leaning towards international studies so he can connect more families like his to the children in Zambia.
Lilly
Lilly got pregnant at 24, therefore she had her twins (Mia and Prosper) and continued her soccer career for four more years after marrying Jake Argent. At 28 she retired even though she didn’t want to but felt she had to as the team was getting new youngins. Lilly had more of a calling to the military though and a month after retiring from soccer she enlisted into the Navy. Her goals, to be the first woman Navy SEAL. She got through the training and out of her class of 87, she was one of 19 to make it all the way through. It was hard leaving her Jakie and children behind that long (mostly Jake XD) but she stuck with her duty as a SEAL until she became a Master Chief of the SEALs, then she returned home for good after being shot in the leg during a terrorist attack on Annapolis. Luckily she was saved after safely holding the city with her team, and now walks with only a limp.
Of course Jake went through medical school, going from PT to Neurologist after Lilly retired from soccer. He went on to have many breakthroughs in ways of coping with anxiety and depression, and saved countless of suicidal lives. After it was all said and done they moved back to Charleston, SC--where Lilly was raised--and sent their twins through high school. Where eventually Prosper went to Maryland on a lacrosse scholarship and Mia went to UNC on a soccer scholarship and actually stuck with it unlike her mama.
Amanda
After having her surprise daughter, Grace, she immediately retired from soccer, sadly bid her soccer gals goodbye and moved to Italy with Daniel (her fiance and pilot in the US Air Force). The two got married when Grace was just a month old, and ended up having another daughter two years younger than Grace named Halie. Amanda surprisingly returned to soccer in the Italian league and played a couple more years until Daniel and she moved back to the US to go to school. Daniel went on to become a ROTC instructor and Amanda became a professional women’s soccer coach for the Boston Breakers.
The family now resides in Boston and Grace went to Notre Dome on a soccer scholarship and hopes to play pro with Mia Argent one day. Halie is a senior in high school and wants to go to a school of arts, hopefully in New York, where she can pursue ballet.
Corrie
Corrie was the last player left from the four girls, and retired at 39 after marrying her old college-ex, Michael. Unfortunately Corrie had major PTSD from being kidnapped with Lilly back in the day, and ended up spending a lot of time in rehab for drug abuse. Luckily when she accidentally got pregnant, her baby boy, Mikey (Michael Jr.) was born healthy. After having Mikey, Corrie really fixed her life and got a job as a correctional officer in the local Juvy in San Marcos, TX. She had two more children afterwards, Samuel and Jane. Michael started his own beef jerky business and the family actually got along perfectly fine and were happy.
Mikey went on to become a Texas State Trooper, Samuel went to business school at the University of South Carolina, and Jane got a volleyball scholarship to Virginia, where she is currently a happy player and is looking into sports management.
“Coach Beasley rubbed his temples out of exasperation as his team began a bantering battle. Finally, he broke. “Shut up! Just shut up! All of you! Do you not understand I brought you out here today to escape? We can go back to the training center and run for all I care! I brought you all out here to build a team, not break one!”
Everyone was quiet after that. They all looked at Coach Beasley with apologetic eyes. He broke, “I’m sorry girls, I didn’t mean to raise my voice.”
“No,” Amanda cut him off, “We’re sorry Coach. We really should be working on team chemistry. I understand some of us didn’t want to get up early, or others didn’t want to get muddy…but in reality it’s a lack of open-mindedness.”
The team nods in agreement.
Coach Beasley smiles weakly, “I have the best team in the world. Now come on, let’s get your pitiful hikers back to the hotel.”
On the way back Coach Beasley watched happily as his girls laughed amongst themselves, slinging their arms around each other’s bare shoulders. And he got even happier when they reached the river and they chose to swim over as a team rather than take the bridge. Then he was amazed when Lilly stumbled over some large rocks and Dan jumped to catch her.
He really did have the best team in the world.”
