I am still emotionally recovering from the events of the latest episode so I decided to do a moody drawing about it. Seeing Star so upset is honesty heartbreaking 💔Lord knows how I am going to cope with the season finale!

Heyy happy blorbo blursday!!!
Which oc is most likely to commit a crime?
Also here is a wbw ask, I meant to send one yesterday but your asks were closed :)
Does blood play a part in your wip, like is there blood magic or anything (I know in mine I'm working on creating a sub-category of Ancient magic that has to do with blood)
Hope your day/night have been going good :)
omg im so sorry 🙈 i had no idea it was closed🙈. But thank you for the double question :3
Which oc is most likely to commit a crime?
Given how Elijah is a criminal (a Pirate) - i feel saying him would be far too obvious haha. He kills pirates on the regular, traffics drugs, and steals from other ships xD
Though, surprisingly Astrea also commits smaller crimes. But they're little petty crimes like sneaking around / illegally being in places she isn't permitted. She also steals food from bakeries every now and again lol because she's sneaking around anyway and she can't resist a sweet pastry. But her crimes don't involve hurting people 🤣
Does blood play a part in your wip, like is there blood magic or anything?
Hell yeah! Also I hint at in my series title Bloodless Heir hehehe.
So far, royal elemental magic (as we see Astrea use with fire magic, and soul magic) are both magics that she can only access because she's a descendant of royalty. I call this magic blood magic because its in the blood.
It's also seen in the secret ingredient for Corrupt Magic. Corrupt Magic is essentially magic you can use by corrupting the blood of the royals and injecting it into yourself. (That's a massive spoiler tho lol).
But that's the closest I have to blood magic!!
😎
answering this ask game
Inspired by @aninkwellofnectar 's Darius... Maybe I'll call him Damian??
University of New Magic Chairman Damian (Book 1 Villian)
4 fun facts!!
has a goal to dethrone the Royals and give power to the people
ends up falling in love with a royal, complicating matters. but not too much.
his daughter is secretly Princess Astrea's (MC) best friend.
He has no magic, and would never use it himself. not until he perfected it. would be willing to experiment on his children if he needed to.
.
thanks for the ask :D
Happy WBW! <3 Are there any long lost or ruined places in your world that people fear or think cursed, maybe not even know about it? If there are, are they really cursed and/or abandoned for a similar reason or history/superstition is deceitful?
Happy WBW @tryingtimi :3✨❤️
Ohoh I certainly want to implement more - but there is one that is super relevant to the Prequel / Book 1. >:3
The Origins of Corrupt Magic
There is cultural superstition around a set of ruins outside the capital of Oracea - between some outskirt villages.
Villagers often think they can see humanoid creatures prowling around the ruins, and hear women and men torturous-ly screaming through the night. They also site a spine-chilling air around the ruins. It's just so commonly known as terrifying that people just know to avoid it.
No one knows what happened there - or how long those ruins had been there.
But. One researcher / scientist had a theory, and he went to investigate. He theorized that it was the site of a magical battle. But, only the Royals can use magic - so he theorized this is a new type of magic.
Magic = Power in this world. This is why magic users became Royalty. (This has its own lore, and lore post xD)
So, the superstition didn't bother him since he was "a man of science!" Lol. So, he did end up finding evidence of a new type of magic. But, what he didn't realize was that those original creators of this magic burned everything down because they realized the horrid-ness they created. That's why they're ruins.
This new scientist put everything into this investigation to uncover their secrets. And he rediscovers the secret of "Corrupt Magic." And this happens just before Antor arrives in Oracea.
A bigger lore post on Corrupt Magic if you're interested
When Antor arrives with a baby Astrea, there are monsters roaming the woods - monsters the land had never known before. And this is because of this re-discovery if Corrupt Magic.
The people blame these monsters on the Pyrian War. Astrea also grows up with people blaming it on her for essentially being a "cursed child," because of the nature of her birth. No one knows the monsters are truly coming from the usage of this new type of magic.
But anyways yeah :D
Hope that wasn't too long and boring 🤣❤️✨
Happy WBW! (If you’re not doing it this week, feel free to ignore this 😄) I’d love to know what your favorite part of your worldbuilding is, even if it’s small details like their schools or coins 😊
Happy WBW :3
I always try to answer every one I get!!!! despite asks piling up in my inbox omg-- BUT YOU'RE LUCKY CUZ THIS ONE IS EASY PEASY>:D
So far my favourite bit is the creation of Corrupt Magic.
This magic is unlike anything the world has seen before, and because it's "new" no one knows just how evil it is. It's been lost in time -and for a good reason. But our Book 1 Villains rediscover it and absolutely ruin the lives of the Oracean Royal Family. (This has to do with the real reason Queen Edrei was killed - but the details of that are a spoiler)
I go faaar more into detail (with pictures) in this linked post.
TLDR for Corrupt Magic:
It corrupts the people that use it.
It's addictive like a drug, except once you start it, you can not stop without slowly killing yourself. You need to keep using it to feel alive. But you can see how this would escalate.
Therefore; anyone who uses corrupt magic risks corruption (physical and mental)
[this is why I used those corrupt!charactername tags - just in case I want them to succumb to corruption >:D]
It absorbs organic life and corrupts the life it takes life energy from (plants, animals, people) -and creates monsters from these corrupted organisms.
It is the reason monsters roam Oracea for the first time in their history (something the people actually blame Astrea on - saying it was her cursed origins that are cursing the land).
It was secretly re-discovered just before Antor arrived to Oracea, with the propose to dethrone the Oracean Royalty.
But yeah :D at the same time there's SO MUCH about my world that I love exploring but this one has just been corrupting my mind lately HAHA. SORRY LMAO. Thank you for asking xD
Hey I have a WBW question for you. I'm very interested in the Artificial Magic. Basically what is it? How was it created? And what's the Royals relationship to magic? How does this artificial magic impact the Royals? If you've already answered this somewhere feel free to point me in that direction.
Okay - I spent a while looking through my posts - because I know I’ve posted about it. But, damn, I should tag those ones better. They're awfully well hidden, I apologize. I’ll use this as a re-do post!
I would have added a read more, but it kept messing up the format with the pictures, so I apologize 🥺
Commoners / Nobility call it Artificial Magic
Royals call it Corrupt Magic
(since they’re the main POV, I typically call it corrupt magic too! I called it Artificial there because that POV was Merlin, a rare POV, who is a commoner)
Here's Some Vibes to get us started 。◕‿◕。
What is Corrupt Magic?
It essentially bends the laws of nature and corrupts it to give power to the person for a limited time, it does this by stealing life energy from organic matter. As you saw with the serum. It is addictive because of its drug-like qualities.
For example, a mage can take the life energy from a puppy. But, by doing so, it can either: (1) straight up kill that puppy, or (2) forever alter that puppy to make it corrupted or tainted. It loses all sentience and acts purely on instincts. It also might physically alter it in some nightmarish ways - removing a few limbs, eyes, or etc. Looking very much like one of those images in the beginning.
It will make you feel more powerful for a limited time, accessing a magical skill that directly reflects the organic matter you steal from. For example, a dog might make your physical prowess more dog-like. You will be able to jump higher, and your jaw gets stronger… etc.
However it not only corrupts the organic matter it steals from, but also the mage...
Once this magic wears off… you will forever lose a part of yourself. That could be blindness, a sense of taste, wrinkles… depending on what you stole from, it might even take a leg from you. It can make a 20-year-old made, look 80.
Monsters are thus a creation of corrupt animals and people!
It is important to note that:
if it is constantly in your blood, you will feel no consequences, as long as it is constantly flowing through you. But, like a drug, they will every so often require a higher dose to maintain their looks. So, in this instance, it can make an 80-year-old look 20 if there is a constant flow in them.
At one point, Corrupt Magic will evolve to Cursed Magic. Because, if you let it get bad, you might need to sacrifice a mass level of organic matter to maintain your life.
As you can see, this is going to have grave plot consequences, its actually a major part of the plot in both the Prequel (Antor’s Story Arriving Oracea with Astrea) as well as in Book 1 (Where Astrea’s Story Starts).
How was it Created? / How does it impact the royals?
It is important to note that Royalty has been in power since the Age of the Prophets. The prophets were the first people graced with magic by the Gods themselves. Their descendants became the royalty, who are the only people in the world who have magic. I’m going to release a post on that soon because someone else sent an ask asking about that haha.
So, this royal power has been evident though time. Power = Magic. And the Oracean Nobles are getting sick of it, and power hungry.
That makes it very important when a researcher stumbles on the ruins of a site of, what he thinks, was a magical battle. He becomes very curious about it because it is in an area where the royals are not documented to have resided in. This researcher thinks he discovered a new type of magic, but he needs money and patrons to help him learn more about it.
Word gets out to the Nobility - the same Nobility that wants to overthrow the Royals. So, these plotting Nobles fund him and pressure this researcher to find the secret to this magic by whatever means necessary.
This researcher realizes that the magic that was lost in time, but he becomes curious as to why all of the research was destroyed. It seems as though it was in purpose. He becomes obsessed with trying to put the clues together. Due to the pressure from the nobility, he does not do this properly, and Corrupt Magic is re-created (there are quite a few more details I need to solidify for this story, but that's the just of it! But, he becomes deeply regretful once he realizes it was destroyed for a reason.)
This is happening just before Antor arrives in Oracea with a baby Astrea.
Corrupt Magic was discovered directly with the aim to overthrow the royals. But! The royals don't know this!! The nobility does not make that motive public!!! The nobility managed to get this magic into universities with the goal to research it and perfect it "for the greater good." The royals are the only ones who are suspicious of it!
What is the royal's relationship to magic?
As I’ve mentioned, the Royals have a separate kind of magic - pure kind of elemental based magic! At the beginning of Book 1, the two main Magics are Royal and Corrupt.
Royal Magic:
only accessible to royals, or those with royal blood. This is typically elemental-based.
Pyrian Royal Magic is Fire Magic .
Oracean Royal Magic is Soul Magic.
And since Bastard Princess Astrea is the only mixed royal, she can use Soul-Fire magic. (a working name)
Corrupt Magic:
only accessible to those who know how to use it, and they have vastly more deadly consequences because of their corruption properties.
Typically, they access this through an injectable serum (which you saw in the Merlin snippet!) which allows them to steal the life energy from organic matter.
:D
I hope that wasn't too much 🙈
For further asks on this:
Here's an ask I answered on the negative consequences of both royal magic and corrupt magic!
Here's an ask I previously answer on how royal and corrupt magic is channelled!
Hiya! Can I get 3 and 10 for the Magical Ask game pretty pretty please? <3
Hey @owlishink :D thanks for question ✨❤️
If you're new, it definitely makes more sense to answer 10 first 🙌❤️ so!
10. Are there categories of magic? Can a single person use more than one of these categories, or can one person only use one? Are some people naturally better at certain categories than others?
Two Main Categories are Royal and Corrupt. But, later in the story, we will see Common. note:
Royal magic -> only for those with Royal Blood (the most powerful)
Corrupt magic -> anyone with knowledge of how it works (massive consequences to your health).
Common -> only 20% of people can randomly have access to it.
It could be possible for a single person to use all three. However, it is only possible for a Royal to use all three. If a Royal uses Corrupt Magic, they would have to deal with the consequences of Corrupt Magic (irreparable fatigue and possible addiction). It is also possible for them to have access to common magic, however, given that their connection to their royal magic is so powerful, (with common magic being weaker), it is likey that they might not even notice they are capable of using Common !
However, given the different types of Royal Magics (there are a few different kingdoms). It is possible for someone to be capable of more than one royal magic if they are descendants from multiple royal lineages.
My OC: Astrea is a descendant of two Royal lines and can thus use two different Royal Magics.
.
3. What careers require magic use? How so, and how are those in these careers treated by society?
Royal Magic users are literally - the royalty. So, in the Kingdom of Oracea, members of the royal family that do not become “heir’s” to the throne, are trained in different things to help society. (Since the people rely on royal magic to keep the city alive.)
Some distant relatives even have jobs in cathedrals as holy men, to maintain the ideal that the royalty are connected to the Gods even now.
Another magical jobs could involve direct maintenance of the source of their magic (A Relic Under the Castle that feeds magic to the city), to ensure it is working properly, and providing the necessary power to the city.
Corrupt Magic users can find jobs in University Settings. They can be educators. But, most of them are researchers. Since corrupt magic is a “New Magic,” there are several possibilities open for how to differently approach this type of magic.
Though, this ask is getting me to think more about the jobs that they could do… Perhaps they could be hired to exterminate new monsters that crop on outside the city. Perhaps they could be hired by anti-royalists to do jobs that they often relied on the royals for (like electricity).
Common isn't really discovered until much later in the narrative. But they'd be able to do skilled labour with the help of their magic. (For example: healers, construction, blacksmithing... etc etc etc.)
.
Thanks for the ask, I appreciate your curiousity! I hope you're having a great day ! ✨ (~ ̄³ ̄)~ ✨
4 and 7 for that magical ask game? :3c
Hey @magefaery :D thanks for the ask ✨❤️
.
4. What negative effects does magic have on the user? On their appearance, behavior, or physical or mental condition?
For Royal Magic in General:
Basic Negative Effects: It has basic exhaustion principles similar to that of exercising, so if you physically overdo it, you will really feel it in your body (in your head and heart, mainly).
Though, there could be specific example of extreme negative effects in the different types of royal magic (ex. Soul and Fire magic).
-> Oracean Soul Magic:
If they go too hard, they could risk losing their soul inside another person, in a void of nothingness. This could lead to their body still alive, but living as a vegetable without a soul. There is no knowable cure.
-> Pyrian Fire Magic:
If they are untrained, they risk burning themselves to receive scars, or even death.
Corrupt Magic in General:
They absorb the life energy of another life organism into themselves. The magical boost only lasts for a limited time. However, this has long term effects on the organism they steal life from. It essentially “corrupts” the life theyre taking from forever. For example, taking from a puppy could turn it into a blind puppy, but also might disfigures the puppy enough to make it unrecogizable and monstrous.
To absorb the life energy into themselves, they have to sacrifice a little of their own soul. As they keep using this magic, they sacrifice more and more of their soul to do so. Corrupt Magic is like a drug that only harms, and there is no possibility of rehab. Addicts to corrupt magic end up needing to have a constant flow of it to look the same and feel the same as before.
Once the magic they absorb runs out, the sideeffects are minimal at first: permanent scaring in on skin, eyes dry out, their skin permanently crinkles. After more and more uses, a 20 year old can look like a 80 year old. After even more uses, they might even dissolve into nothingness if they relied on it too much.
.
7. How well understood is magic by people? What is education like for the topic of magic?
Royal Magic
is only truly understood by royalty since theyre are the only ones who can use it, and know its secrets. The common people depend on their magic to help daily life, and the royals keep these methods a secret so they are revered to as close to “gods” as possible.
Corrupt Magic
is starting to be taught in universities, so those who wish to learn can, but only those who pass the final examinations know the true dark secrets to this type of magic.
.
Thanks for the ask 🙈❤️ hope you're having a lovely day ✨
