2026 Writing Goal!

I have a feeling this year might not be as good as last. I had a monthly goal last year, with a minimum amount each month, but I don't think I'm gonna do that this time. I just want to write something each month. If it's above 0 each month, that's a win lol.

Last year I hit the most important goal of finishing my discovery draft of book 1! I even got through 1/3rd of my next draft! So I'm hoping to finish my next draft by the end of 2026!

Gonna try and hit 100k for the year at least!

After the excitement of last night, the Capitol is hoping for even more excitement today! The arena smells like freshly baked sugar cookies.

Conor and Klara decide to become coupled after having multiple dates and a cuddle! DO NOT LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED WITH GHEA EVERYTHING IS FINE. Dante, Emily, and Nox contemplate polyamory!

WHG 23 Day 1

It is time for the first event of the Hunger Games Dating Edition: The Blind Date! The tributes are brought up to a cornucopia that's filled with things you would need for a date: outfits, flowers, bags with information on other tributes, tables, food, and other various objects. The sky is a sickly pink color, and the trees surrounding the cornucopia have silver and gold heart-shaped leaves. There's no sound of animals or any other signs of life. It's just the tributes and the plants alive in here.

Quite a bit of planning, but no one making moves yet! Téa decides it's not a Hunger Games if no one fights. While Rod, Trevor, and Asher decide to work together to get supplies for dates. I wonder if they are eyeing each other for a date? Only time will tell.

WHG Round 23 Pride Edition!!!

So, I'm gonna try to run this! Dating won the poll, so this will be a dating simulator, teehee. I ask that there are at least 12 total characters submitted, but I do think that 24 tributes at least would be a lot more fun. If we don't get 12 total characters submitted, I won't be able to run the simulation. So, let's get submitting!

I will have submissions open until Tuesday, June 16. Please either reblog with the submission, send in an ask, or message this blog with the submissions! Please send in the characters' names, pronouns, ages, short backstories, and where they fall on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. You can submit up to 3 characters! I will figure out the timeline past that.

The dating simulator is something I made up on my own with my own prompts. There is no accounting for sexualities in the simulator, so please be aware of that! The dating simulator does have the chance for the characters to get into polyamory, so please be aware of that too! This is for fun, supposed to be lighthearted! If you have any ideas for a prompt for the simulator, please let me know!

Short backstory: coming from a country and family that hated her and disowned her she tries to make a name for herself on the sea where no one knows who she was before. And when she finds the sea serpents, where she was looking for a crew, she finds a family !

Though, she used to sleep with the captain for a quick release, now that the captain found a lover in a bastard princess, Téa is left looking for someone to help fill a void. No matter how many someones that involves, as long as she doesn't fall in love, that's perfect.

LGBTQ+ spectrum: bisexual, very open to anyone who wants a one night stand, but loves to corrupt folks from vanilla to kinkier

Pirate co-captain: Ghea! She/ Her. Age: ~35-40ish?

She's a huge woman, muscles and scars galore, and if you haven't imagined it yet, has the air of a veteran sailor.

Short backstory: She had a family once, killed by the nation she once called home. They were used as blackmail for the nation to control her and have her as a threatening Navy Captain. But once when she refused to go against her ethics and morals, she thought the nation was bluffing when they threatened to kill her innocent family. Unfortunately, they weren't.

So, finding someone also on the edge of leaving the nation, they both made a leap and abandoned the country behind. Until they found allies. And then, until they found themselves on a crew of folks with a similar background, all just looking for a home. Somewhere they wouldn't abandon their morals. (Yes, on the same crew as Téa)

LGBTQ+ spectrum: bisexual/demisexual, once leaned towards men (men often smaller than her), but now, she's open to anyone who's interested in her, and anyone who's willing to fight by her side.

Life's kicking me right in the booty hole and I haven't been able to passionately write anything since maybe last year uggh. I mean it probably helped I finished my discovery draft last year for book 1 which was a huge win for me!!

I'm actually maybe like 35%(??) into the next draft which is also still amazing!! But I'd love to just lock in like I could before!! But honestly I probably also need this break so I'm trying not to dwell on it too hard. Plus I have some buddies now helping me beta and edit the second draft as I'm going which is a big win too!

Tho I'm going through some serious development of the world for book 2 which is also super exciting!!

Hello, it's nice to meet you! I'm Zac!

I run all kinds of writing events every month, including a regular ask game (this month's prompts went up on Monday)! More details on all the events in my navigation post. I usually try to keep things very positive and I love finding new ways to interact with the community.

In my own writing world right now, I am working on a new adult contemporary fantasy series called Paragon. I'm currently in first drafting stages for Book 1, Fire in My Veins. Details are constantly changing, but I'm really happy with how things are developing right now! I feel like I am really digging in and remembering my strengths and how to use them effectively. I will talk about it a lot on this blog, with updates on progress and participating in ask and tag games with this series and the characters!

For a brief description of the idea: it's set in a version of the world where half the population has the power to control an element of nature. It focuses on our seven main characters - one for each element they can control - finding identity and belonging in a world that sees them as a dangerous "other."
