                                 He nods as he takes a sip of the coffee Lenalee brought on her way into the depths of the science division. Boots thump lightly on the floor as he walks with Alma, occasionally putting a hand out to guide him away from a rushing scientist, never touching him but hand hovering just behind his back in a caring way. ❛❛ There usually is more! Today seems rather slow, I reckon half of them have finally gone to bed for the first time in a few days. I don’t doubt the Head Nurse got on them about their sleep schedules again. Especially Komui, I heard her yelling at him earlier once she found out he was starting to see things that weren’t there. ❜❜

                                   Silver eyes meet with a pair of amber ones of a blonde member, polite nods exchanged as a silent greeting between the two as they walked past his desk. Poor bastard, at least he seems to be doing a bit better than everyone else at keeping up with his paperwork. ❛❛ If it’s too loud, I could show you somewhere else? Have you seen the garden Miku keeps? It’s got a very pretty rock path and a wide variety of plants Miku claims have medicinal uses. ❜❜

“….” Freedom? Such a concept was… strange to the child that now roams the streets. An unusual sight, even in the city built on revolution. Wide icy pools glide across the many citizens out and about, many stumbling, many with a stride of determined ambitions. And the boy can’t help but gauk. Stare in what, jealousy? Longing? He didn’t know, he couldn’t know. He’s just a child. But the pangs of hunger break the spell. Right. Right. He’s got to eat. Nimble, pale digits dig into the cloth of the shawl, tugging it up and over most of his features. Only once his face was secure in shadow, the little street rat began his prowl.

Venti, still half asleep and maybe slightly hungover, was just now prowling the streets, having bought a few apples with the tiny bit of Mora he'd been able to scrounge up. He felt like crap, to be honest, but such was the way of the world, when one over indulged in alcohol.

Just as he was about to bite into one of his apples, malachite hues glanced over, noticing a figure that, while small, still managed to stand out. Even shrouded in a shawl, it was clear to see that the person was a child, one who was filthy, at that. While others passed by with only glances or whispers, Venti sighed, silently begging his slight headache to go away, before he approached that small form.

"Hello there, little one~!" Venti greeted in a singsong tone of voice, though it was a bit quieter than his normal speaking volume, on account of his headache. He also didn't want to end up scaring the poor kid. "Are you lost? Do you need any help?"
