Am I Your Creation or Are You Mine?
Forgive me Father for I have sinned,
And I’ll sin again.
What else were we meant to do, Father?
You put us in a world where the tender
Touch of passing hands between man
Is demonized.
Forgive me Father for I have lied,
And I’ll lie again.
What else should I say, Father,
When the world is enough
To make grown men cry?
Forgive me Father, if when I kneel
I do not say your name.
It doesn’t come off my lips like theirs,
I do not have a believers tongue.
Forgive me Father,
My prayers are not solid.
They are said in haste,
Treated like a superstition.
A “just in case”
Rather than an offering.
Maybe you should ask me
For forgiveness too, Father?
Worship me like your God?
Am I your creation,
Or are you mine?
Kneel before me, Father.
Lick my wounds,
For a God should not bleed as I have.
Love me wholly.
Satisfy my hunger
For the divine.
