ok ive been brewing a new au for a while and it was originally centered around the common trope of PK being slowly killed inside out by the void

however the first twist came out of the idea of "what if the void in PK was symbiotic" sortve like Venom. The only way to keep it from consuming his light is to basically consume other things to keep it busy and that eventually leads him to literally consuming the Radiance in an act of fucked up cannibalism but they're bugs and also gods so its not fucked up for them

then i started listening to some Jekyll and Hyde

so the basic idea is: PK is a host to a growing conscience of void inside him that he used to devour the Radiance himself but now he's stuck with a +1 in his head that he is trying to figure out how to evict before it takes him over

Ayo Does pk end up seprating himself for is wife and children permanently when he takes a big ol sip sip of voice?

Does he end of succoming to the void creature inside him? And does it take over? Or does he somehow get it out or subdue it?

Well for my AUs I generally like to create the setting and only for a choice few do I develop any sort of plot (like shitlordau n pale jester) so that people can make their interpretations of what the characters would do! sorta like i toss out an idea and ya’ll can take it or leave it. 

Though from my interpretation of PK, he would isolate himself to an extreme degree to keep his loved ones and friends safe.

and for the last bit, I don’t want to choose an ending so quickly because that then smothers what can happen between point A and point Z. All of those ideas have super fun angst potential but you gotta have some build up before desert y’know? 

but to maybe guide your imagination a bit, the corrupted light au is based off of Jekyll and Hyde and also Venom. In Jekyll and Hyde, Jekyll has his best friend shoot him so that Hyde can’t hurt anyone anymore. In Venom, Eddie and Venom end up bonding together as host and symbiote and grow stronger together.

This AU is a mash of those two storylines. The Void takes a visage of PK and appears to him in mirrors, shadows, dreams, etc. I HC that the Shade Lord is basically a black hole of information. Not only does it seek to consume nourishment but also knowledge, so it acts a bit more benevolent to PK because he is a great vessel to access more knowledge.

PK on the other hand is a lot more like Jekyll in my mind. Very scientific and inventive but terrified of the creature inside and all the ways it can harm people. His foresight isn’t exactly helpful in easing his anxiety. While the extra strength and powers are a plus and the incessant hunger can be dealt with, he’s terrified of all the unknowns this creature inside of him holds.

so in a nutshell their relationship is

SL to PK: you’re cool PK to SL: you terrify me

hopefully that makes sense

does...does WL know her husband drank a void-concoction and is now harboring an ancient primordial god of the darkness or is he somehow managing to hide it from her bc I HAVE to know her reaction to This Fresh Bullshit

Oh yes this AU is ripe for wyrmroot angst and WL knew the moment PK fucked around with the void a little bit too much

It’s hard not to notice when your husband is suddenly cursed with an unending need to consume and an endless drive of hunger. At first he was able to stave it off with typical Hallownest foods, but eventually when he was distracted by the void’s cravings and his own curiosity he bit into a lightseed and found the taste almost euphoric as the void inside was like YES YES YES YES

that craving grew at an alarming rate until PK literally attacked Radiance in her own realm and consumed her to sate the void inside 

and WL’s watching PK all throughout this as he desperately fights a losing battle with his self control

after PK consumes the Radiance, the void is sated for now. However, PK is now terrified of getting too close to WL bc he’s scared he might hurt her. He doesn’t want to give the void inside another flavor to crave.

and she’s disturbed as hell and worried AF no matter how well she hides it

Damn I knew PK had a habit of disregarding lab safety but straight eating void really takes the cake lmao

oh I HC that at first PK was terrible with lab safety

but also that vial is not entirely void but the concoction definitely contains it. That first pic was very inspired by this song in the Jekyll n Hyde musical if u wanna take a gander

also if you wanna dig deeper after listening to that, Alive, Streak of Madness and Confrontation all from the musical are also great for this au

also Jekyll’s voice for PK, oddly fitting?

Okay, so first and foremost I am very very excited to see more of this AU. I love the Anthony Warlow Jekyll and Hyde musical abfjkdkd and it's perfect for PK.

Is the vessel plan still going on during this? Did it fail and he used himself as a last ditch effort or do Hollow, Ghost and the trillion of other sibs in the pit just not exist?

The vessel plan was still in effect! You can see PV in the last pic in the initial post standing there like 💦 

PK just got a little too curious one day, drank some primordial ooze, and ended up making things a lot more complicated

Okay but for your PK Eats Void au, since PK eats the radience and that defeats the whole purpose of shoving all the babies in the hole and grabbing the purest vessel, what the heck is Hollow doing now that they're not about to get locked up in a big egg? And really there's no reason for the dreamers to become living locks either, so what's their reaction to the whole thing too?

I guess it would turn into a Tales From the White Palace situation where WL and PK have to confront what they did in order to proceed post-infection with a Hallownest that still lives. Hollow has to figure out how to not be the robot they were programmed to be.

PK would do his darndest to not let anyone know, but WL would find out pretty quickly and Hollow probably witnessed PK consume the void so they’d know as well. Herrah, Monomon, and Lurien wouldn’t know unless/untill PK starts slipping up around them for them to become suspicious
