Facing Consequences
So, I wanted the Round Table’s latest video because I was bored and I wanted to give them one last chance at redemption and... the video was... mediocre. It didn’t make me rage like some of their other videos, but it did have its fair share of flaws. In case you are wondering, the video talked about a possible cure for Steven’s uncorruption in case he is Wormy Boi, which I do believe he is. Their solution was that White Diamond would link people to Steven’s mind and they would heal him with a song. Which, is kind of basic and could work. We don’ t know until the ending arrives and know if Steven is Wormy Boi or not.
Now, the theory itself isn’t the problem, the problem was what Vox said about corruption. He said that uncorrupted gems could corrupt gems just like Corrupted gems, which... I don’t think this is the case. Because, if it was, then NO GEM POST CORRUPTION COULD EVER FUSE, OTHERWISE THEY RISK SPREADING THE CORRUPTION! That’s a dick move to place on these poor gems. Yes, the uncorrupted gem have remnants of corruption still on them, but it shouldn’t be enough to corrupt a gem. Also, he said that if Steven is Wormy boi and they find a way to heal Steven, then they could GET RID OF THE CORRUPTION MARKS ON ALL THE UNCORRUPTED GEMS! I’m sorry, WHAT? First of all, that’s washing away the mistakes of the Diamonds. That’s a BAD THING! If you could just, revert the uncorrupted gems completely like that, then why even bother having the Diamonds’ healing oils only ‘partically’ heal the Corrupted gems. It would feel pointless.
Secondly, what’s wrong with the uncorrupted gems having these marks? ‘Because they aren’t perfect now.’ At least, that’s my headcanon for why Vox thinks this way because he doesn’t explain WHY he doesn’t like the marks. He never explains why the marks should be removed. He just says that his ‘solution’ can remove the markings and that’s it. That’s stupid. The Uncorrupted gems should keep their marks. It not only shows that what the Diamonds did to them will never be forgotten, but also that not all wounds heal. After all, soldiers lose their eyes, arms, and legs so some kind of disfigurement on the Uncorrupted gems, showing the scars of the war and their corruption is only natural. You can’t just heal so wounds, just like how Volleyball still has a cracked eye. (Most likely, we haven’t had a confirmation of where she still has a missing eye or not. I say that she does, she just doesn’t care about it anymore.)
Finally, why not have Steven have some uncorrupted markings left over if he is Wormy Boi. It will show that Steven did a mistake for not getting the help he needed before he became corrupted. It will be a reminder that while he’s better now, his past is now a part of him and he has to accept it. And, it would look cool and if there are any more series or movies after Future, we could have a different model for brand recognition, so it’s good for marketing as well. It’s a win-win.
So yeah, just wanted to rant about this, since I don’t want people to believe things that are stupid. Hope you like this little rant and do not attack people, no matter how stupid they are. That is a bad thing.
