Time didn't mean much when you were on the ice, at least not when you were just enjoying yourself. There was once a time it mattered, ever second counted and every second wasted meant a worse score but now, now he could take it slow. The sound of the blades gliding across the ice was his clock. each new sound was another moment ticking by. It was a music of it's own and one that rang true in his heart.
Ignis kicked off with his skate, gaining a bit of momentum. He turned, for a moment as he raised his right leg, jumping into a spin and landing perfectly onto his right, a grin on his face. Landing a spin always put a smile on his face no matter the difficulty of it. It was when the slight rush of adrenaline started to fade that he looked down at his watch. He noticed the time and looked at the doors to the rink, no one was there. The appointment he was supposed to have was running late and in that case he'd keep skating until the appointed time was up. He got paid even if the man didn't show and from what they told him, he probably wouldn't.
Cor Leonis, a decorated cop with an attitude to match it. That had been the basic description he had of the man he was supposed to meet. He'd read up on his file but it was much less informative then others. It seemed that the man had been less then cooperative with the others int he facility. The short of it was that his skating program was the last thing they could think to put him in.
Figuring that he still had time, Ignis took his headphones out of his pocket and placed them in his ears, adjusting the mp3 player that was clipped to his waist band on his pants and put on some music. It was a slow tune, something mellow to ease his worries. A new patient always had him growing anxious and this one's reputation made him a bit nervous. Usually they didn't give him the hard cases like this, but he'd take the challenge.
The change in the beat of the song, something a bit quicker had him skating around the edge of the rink, gaining some momentum. He moved to the middle of the ice into camel spin, his arms extended out as well as his right leg. It gained some spin until he moved closer ot the ice into a sit spin, moving quicker and quicker. He used that momentum to push up into a scrath spin, standing almost straight, his blades seeming to almost float over the ice. It was fast, well practiced and meticulous and when he broke from it there wasn't a hint of dizziness to him.
Olive eyes were closed as the music got to him, a feeling that only the music and ice could give him bursting forth and making him want to continue. He began to skate, picking up speed. He went backwards for a moment before turning with left foot and facing forward. The momentum kicked off into a double axel and he landed on his right legs, again flawlessly. A bead of sweat started to form on Ignis' brow and he went to wipe at it, looking forward. Olive eyes met icy blue and he came to a halt, standing up straight and pulling his earphones out.
"I take it you're Cor Leonis. Welcome to the rink, I'll be teaching you from now on."
