precursory note 1: i have no last names for my main five OCs. i’ve had them for going on four years and still haven’t thought of any
precursory note 2 (electric boogaloo): important information about the universe. There is magic, but an uncanny kind of magic - the kind that makes people turn evil, the kind that manifests in science and politics instead of classical “wizards”, the kind that behooves vampires and shapeshifters but not faeries or elves. In essence, backrooms magic, alchemical magic, science magic. Magic is learned, not born with, because it is a science - which means that some people may go to college, some people are self-taught, harnessing the threads of the universe. Because of the nature of it, some people may skip steps. And learn things before the “normal” series of steps. et cetera
OC Introduction: Seàn
Seàn is the oldest and most “responsible” member of the South Point Five. He won’t tell anyone in-universe how old he is (19? 29? 900?). He appears around twenty-five or twenty-eight, but he is immortal and a vampire, though he’s a vegetarian and drinks coconut water to satiate his bloodhunger (and a lot of coffee. no he’s not addicted, he can quit anytime he wants). His fangs have disappeared since he has no need for them to feed on blood. Most of the traditional vampire traits have disappeared as well; he can spend time in the sun (he’s just more susceptible to sunburn), he isn’t hurt by silver or holy water, and he appears in mirrors. The only remaining traits are the bloodhunger (which is much more dialed down, he eats a normal diet supplemented by a daily coconut water and pills intended for those with iron deficiencies) and immortality.
Seàn encountered a disheveled-looking kid panhandling at a bus stop one day who told him he had run away from home. Seàn figured the kid would be back home within two days, so gave him a kind smile and a few dollars but didn’t press anything onto the kid. To his surprise and concern, the kid was still hanging around the sketchier parts of town, getting more and more disheveled with every passing day, as Seàn made his way to work. A month in, and the kid was still jumpy and grimy at the bus stop, so Seàn decided to discreetly tail him home. He discovered that the kid was living in an alley, homeless, then slipped away so he wouldn’t scare him by following him. The next day, Seàn stopped the kid at the bus stop and asked if he needed a place to live. The kid - who introduced himself as Everett - was apprehensive at first, but he’d grown used to seeing Seàn at the bus stop, and somewhat trusted him - especially since Seàn had been slipping him food as he noticed the kid get scrawnier. They had even become friends over the month’s time, leading up to Seàn’s discovery. Everett finally decided it was a good idea, because he knew his uncle was looking for him and it was a better option than sleeping in an alley. He lived with Seàn for a couple of weeks before Sura, London, and Fox joined the Five.
Seàn was the first OC I properly created, and he was created using the “put music on shuffle and use the songs that come up for certain traits” trend. His color palette usually includes a lot of blue-grey, black, grey, and a touch of red-orange; his palette is based on the album cover for Ice of Phoenix by audiomachine. He is a cisgender man (he/him), according to the first artist that came up on shuffle (Thomas Bergersen); his style is very techwear inspired, to match the vibe of the Pacific Rim soundtrack; his personality is adventurous and confident, to match El Dorado by Two Steps from Hell. He is also a caretaker by personality, and often called the “mom friend” as a joke. (He takes it very well. This is a man secure in his masculinity, and he slays when Sura and Fox occasionally convince him to wear a dress and makeup. In fact it takes very little convincing to get him to. in a past iteration - being immortal and all - he was in fact a drag queen.)
Seàn works as a bouncer at a bar in downtown South Point, but his job plays little into the events of the South Point Five canon.
To describe Seàn, I have five points that I originally wrote down:
- the “responsible” one
- 19? 29? 900? he won’t tell anybody
- parent figure
- looks like he could kill you, is actually a cinnamon roll
- has a thing for public transport
- Vine to describe him: “can I please get a waffle”
Seàn is of average height - around 5’10 - but very muscular (not bodybuilder defined, but toned and sleeper build defined). He has straight brown hair in a long-ish cut and grey eyes, an average depth of voice, and typically keeps his face clean-shaven. He likes a techwear/tactical gear style, frequently wearing cargo pants, combat boots, lanyards and straps, utility belts, and heavy cargo jackets, and either wears fingerless gloves or fabric wraps around his hands. I usually draw him with either a snug black undershirt or crop top under his jacket because he deserves to be a bit of a manwhore. as a treat.
Seàn’s name was almost Reagan before I decided between the two names.
somebody remind me in the notes and i’ll add a drawing of him to this introduction, i don’t have one with me at the moment
