Alignment :: What would be their D&D alignment? How might it come into play?
while i have many extensive problems with using the d&d alignment chart to define a character (it’s a handy guide to quickly get a handle on a character, not a rigid box to shove them into permanently)
cloud is, at least to me, neutral good.
he’s got a good heart and he’s here to do good things; he wants to help people and make the world a better place. sometimes, that requires doing things well outside the bounds of the law why, hello, shinra, sorry for blowing up your reactors in order to save the planet. on the other hand, he’d certainly rather stay inside the bounds of laws and societal normalcy rather than break them, if given a free choice, so chaotic is generally out.
Fluff :: What hits their soft spot? Does anything them into emotional goo?
however, even with chocobos (and maybe kittens), it’s very hard to get cloud even admit his soft side in his own head, let alone express it to others. it’s not that he’s cold; he’s just not generally the melt-y type.
Jaded :: Do they buy into the “happily ever after” ideal? What’s their standard?
not really. after all, happily ever after isn’t really something that happens - it implies an ending, but you’re still living through the rest of your life that the ending implies. and even if you’re happy for two, ten, fifteen years - there’s always room for something new and bad to happen. lots of somethings.
the geostigma crisis showed him that, as has isola to a small extent.
he doesn’t think it’s impossible, exactly, just… extremely unlikely, and a bit of a misunderstanding.
