It was an occurrence that the hatter wished would end, but the cycle continued no matter how hard he worked to push the other away. What did Gil see in him to begin with ? An question for another time, perhaps, he speaks to himself only as he pushes the raven back against the sofa in his bedroom.

‘ Really, you’re pathetic ’ harsh words spill between their heated exchange, Break’s fingers already pulling at his cravat and tossing it to the side. Pathetic indeed. Break was toxic, as deadly and poisonous as the cigarettes Gilbert would inhale. He’d become another addiction to the raven, no matter how many times Break told him it would never work. How childish his emotions were, how many times he’d made him cry, shoving those emotions back down his throat and yet he continued to crawl back to him weak and desperate for his deadly grip.

And Break gave in every time, falling for an addiction of his own. He could never truly let himself fall of course, he was on a time frame. He didn’t have time for useless things like love and attachments. He couldn’t commit even if he wanted to, as he was a broken man too shattered to even begin picking up the pieces. A moan can be heard coming from the raven as Break straddled his hips and the hatter could only chuckle and tease. ‘ Getting turned on already ? ’ and Break is quick to grab a handful of curls in his hand and yank the raven’s head back, forcing him to gaze into that single, taunting red hue burning back into his soul, seeing through him like glass.

Break can see it, the exhaustion, the pain that swelled up in those tired golden irises. His struggle that constantly beats him up day after day and he knows Break’s words to be true. Its such a pitiful sight, Break can’t even enjoy it. Instead he releases his grip on his hair and moves to cup his face in his hands, kissing him deeply and hard, tasting the nicotine that lingered in Gil’s mouth. Such a disgusting taste, so bitter and dull but Break brings it back to his lips again and again for another hit before letting his fingers dangle down to his chest, working away at the buttons. ‘ Like I said’ he speaks again, hot and breathless into his kiss. ‘ Pathetic. ’

The level of Break’s influence ran deep, however, he couldn’t ignore that he was still a mere servant to the Rainsworth Dukedom. Because of this, there were certain formalities that needed to be kept, Break being kept in his place. It seemed Gilbert had learned how to take advantage of that fact. No matter, there were ways the hatter could punish the raven for such rebellious defiance.

He may have been just a servant, but at the end of the day, the one in charge was none other than Break himself. Moving along side him with his hands tucked behind his back he gives Gilbert a kind smile, bowing respectfully before the other nobles and their posh, stuck up noses.

‘ Ah, good evening, Master Gilbert ’ he spoke, every word oozing with a forced sweetness that was unbeknownst to the hatter and anyone who knew him, and there was a grin in the back of his head as he knew Gilbert had figured out just how in trouble he was. The moment the other nobles had left the room, the hatter instantly uses his cane to land a hit on the other, thin fingers moving to grab the cravat around the raven’s neck and pulling him down into a hard kiss. If he wasn’t petty enough, Break bit down on his lower lip before allowing the other to breath.
