Wrapped up another cluster of Corvus Cabal murderbirbs for a narrative event this Saturday. The White Ravens take inspiration from a Marco Frisoni painting video, though done nowhere near as nicely.

6+ armor save arrow catchers should not have sculpts that look this good. XD I need to do more projects with oil paints. I was kinda deep sixed by a lack of a proper magenta.

Shrike Talon is really the unit centerpiece, took the time to work on those gradients.

Shadow piercer, the unit commander. I love the pet corvid, and thankful I managed to fix it after it had snapped clean off.

The rest of the squad. Modded one so that I can dual use her as either the cabalist w/ spear or cabalist w/ familiar.

Could use more work on the basing, but for now, good enough to field on Saturday.

Woke up early so I could make some Corvus Cabal kids! They’ll be entering the arena when we play some Warcry today.

Thoughts and ideas - Shrike

Been thinking about the Raven Guard models. particularly Shrike. 

I want to replace the back pack with a proper jump pack, and I’d like to do something with the lightening claws.

If I take him and put it on a bigger base

Then put these guys around it.

I’m thinking there a Raven Guard cult, they’re most of the way there already. Not overly chaotic, anything like that easily be removed or remodeled. Throw in some guard ammo packs, maybe a chain sword, and I think your done.

So they’re from a feudal world, superstitious, Emperor fearing, etc. Let’s say their home world was invaded and the Raven Guard fought off the invaders.

This obviously left a big impression, so much so, that a cult was founded to worship their saviors. Nothing particularly original, but it sets the scene.

You could even use the new upgrade set and put some reivers in between them. maybe a covert strike force with support from the planets population?

Now I’m sure there is a model or box set that has birds with it, maybe even crows or ravens, but I can’t remember what it is. It could be Age of Sigmar, but I’m not sure.

I’ll add this one to the list.
