Birthday: 1854 April 27
Blood Status: Pure-Blood
House: Slytherin
Lore:
Born in 1854, Corvus spent most of his childhood in Gaunt Manor. At eight, he was deemed a squib, incapable of possessing magic. In the eyes of pure blood society, this was a smear to their bloodline. Since then, he endured constant emotional and physical mistreatments from his parents and older brother. The only family member who refused to partake was his little sister, Noctua, who instead would try to heal him when she could without getting caught.
On days when their parents were absent, Corvus would find himself strolling through the dark forests surrounding the manor. Finding comfort in stillness and peace of the forest.
When he was eleven, while his parents and older brother were attending yet another pureblood event, he went on what could be his last stroll through the dark forest. It was the last possible day for him to receive his Hogwarts Letter. He had hoped that with the letter, he could finally escape the mistreatment and be accepted within the family. But without the letter, he knew that pain and death would be awaiting for him upon his return to the manor.
With no chances of escape, he accepts his fate and trudges back to the manor. On his trek, he stumbles upon a mysterious glowing containment with a strange symbol carved in the center. Before he could investigate further, he hears his parents yelling for him in the distance and pockets the container.
As he emerges from the forest, he was immediately hit with the Cruciatus Curse. Years of enduring the Cruciatus has caused his nerves to be hypersensitive. Each session worse than the last. He lets out a blood curdling scream as he felt every nerve boil with excruciating pain. Their father screaming curses at him before casting Depulso, sending Corvus flying back a few feet before colliding into a nearby tree. The impact causing the mysterious containment to slip out of his pocket.
He watches as the container rolls by his hand, its glow glistening as his vision start to blur. Hearing his brother cast an unfamiliar curse, he grabs the container on instinct and braces himself in a fetal position. The curse hits the container causing a magical explosion. The backlash of dark magic and ancient magic burned into him arms, left torso and face before he felt the pull of the portkey.
Unable to hold onto the container, it slips out of his grasp and with a loud CRACK he plunges to the ground below. He was found by Eduardus Howell and learned that he was transported to the year 1886. Unfamiliar with the timeline and having nowhere else to go, he was taken in and later adopted by Eduardus.
~Astronomy Tower~
As the sun dipped below the distant mountain peaks, casting the world into the comforting embrace of the moonless night, a vast expanse of stars began their celestial dance across the endless sky. In this quiet moment, Corvus found himself once again alone in the Astronomy Tower, seeking solace in its elevated vantage point. Leaning against the railings, he felt the gentle caress of the wind, as if nature itself sought to console his troubled soul, tears streaming down his face, unchecked and unabated.
Only moments ago, Corvus had met with Holden, their encounter prompted by a letter he had sent to arrange a discussion about the courtship gifts he had bestowed upon the Ravenclaw. Uncertainty pervaded his mind as he contemplated what lay ahead, their previous interactions hinting at the possibility of a deeper connection. However, the conversation that had ensued had left his chest constricted with despair and anguish. Foolishly, he had allowed himself to believe, to hope that there might be a chance for them to be together. The knowledge that Holden would be leaving Hogwarts, completing his final year elsewhere, only intensified the anguish.
It was strange, the inexplicable hold Holden had over him, an infatuation that had blossomed into an all-consuming obsession. The predatory opal eyes haunted his thoughts, stirring within him a potent mix of fear and exhilaration. Despite their brief encounters, Corvus had felt an unspoken safety and a profound sense of being desired in Holden's presence. With him, he had believed he could shed the burdens that weighed him down and simply be himself. He had dared to hope, and perhaps that was his undoing. He should have been more skeptical of the Seer's words. Deep down, he had known this outcome would leave him shattered and alone, that disappointment and solitude would be his only companions.
