I just read a fanfic that left me philosophizing about human conections and I just wrote something. It's not really a poem, but more like a dive in my consciousness. This is really not the type of thing I usually post, but I thought it would be neat for people to see it ig.

The desire for another's body is prominent.

But it's not really a carnal need that drives it.

More so the need to feel that another being becomes part of your soul.

I would like to connect my mind with someone else's as if we were two wandering spirits, searching for warmth and signs of life.

I need my soul to caress another person's.

I long for that connection that many can feel.

I never had a manual for these things.

But when you dance on a tightrope, what moves you is the beat of your heart.

I hope my dance is with a partner.

Finding a person who understands my psyche is complicated.

That would mean opening my chest.

Showing my organs and allowing them to touch them.

Trusting that their touch will be tender and soft.

My body is too small for how large my emotions are.

My heart beats as if it wants to escape my body.

And my mind has always moved faster than my mouth or my feet.

If I could find a person who wants to cross their soul with mine.

Maybe there I can finally understand what human connections are.

Maybe I can understand what it means to be human.

My reflection becomes distorted and my body moves further and further away from my soul.

My leg fails and walking has become a torment.

Sleeping with pain is far from something easy.

But nothing in this life will keep me from living.

I am movement.

Running hurts.

It hurts too much.

But if I stop it will hurt more.

May my pains intersect with those of someone else.

May we be each other's balm.

That would be a beautiful wish.

Question time!

Got a ton of stuff in the inbox so here we go!!

You're in luck anon! I was writing up a thread on this exact thing for hitting 5k on twitter. To start with I'm using Clip Studio Paint Ex on an ipad so I'll be referencing material both free and paid from the CS asset store. I start by doing a LOT of rough layers so I like having a realistic pencil with good weight control – Currently I'm using the Artemis Pencil Set

Inking is my bread and butter and probably what I put most of my time/attention into. I like pens with texture to them, so I tend to download a bunch to play around with. My mainstays are the pens by User Hmm (001, 002), and I've also used the YOTTI PEN2 and this Textured Pen recently. 

 I'm still figuring out rendering/painting at the moment so I'm trying lots of different things – The blocky Amiette Flat Paint, grainy Soyo Oil 2 and smooth Mono Shade are all ones I've used in the past. I also like the markers in this T-Marker set, which also includes the marker paper texture I use in all my drawings! A piece feels unfinished without it.

Some bonus stuff, I use gradient maps quite often (001, 002, 003, 004) and also avail of the 3D assets, most importantly the perspective boxes.

Though I don't love everything about Royal's ending what I do appreciate is how open it leaves Goro Akechi's situation to interpretation. You want to headcanon that he's dead and Ren has to carry that guilt and regret around the rest of his life? You can. You want to imagine that Goro runs into Leblanc 2 weeks later fresh as a daisy, scoops Ren up into his arms and they get married and have 10 healthy, strapping children together? You can do that.

My personal interpretation is that he's alive, maybe under some sort of official (Anti-social force? Special Ops?) supervision. He's unable to get in touch with the PT as a result but I also think he probably wouldn't even if he was free to. He was expecting to die, not just for the entirety of third semester but ever since he set down on his path of vengeance, and grappling with the fact that he's suddenly got a life stretching out in front of him with no vengeance to drag him along is a lot to deal with. I like to imagine someday down the line him accidentally running across Ren and Ren giving him a punch in the face for letting him believe he was dead lol.

Will there come a day where official Atlus content will contradict that? Maybe! But that's okay. I'm interpreting the tone of your message as a little stressed anon (sorry if I'm reading it wrong), please remember fandom this is a space to play in and have fun, if it's causing you more anxiety than joy maybe take a break. The most important thing is that Goro Akechi lives on in our hearts 💖
