could you draw a kima or keg if you have a chance? i feel like they're on different ends of the same spectrum with kima at 'distinguished' and keg at 'disaster'. also, what are you using to generate your pallets? i would love to use something like that to practice my own feeble drawings

hi, i'm sure this has been answered many times before but i'm very new here and don't know how to find things. i just finished cql and would love to give the novel a try, in chinese preferably (my chinese isn't great but i can muddle through). i can get a paper copy on amazon that won't arrive for two months. do you know how one goes about acquiring a digital copy? i did a bit of googling but i have no idea whether what i found was legit or not. thanks a bunch and your meta is delightful

So you can get an uncensored paper copy from the publisher in Taiwan! It arrived for me actually very quickly, like less than two weeks I think??

Special box edition with merch (4 main volumes only; volume 4 includes extras Family Banquet, Incense Burners, Villainous Friends, and From Dusk til Dawn*, which I think is a Taiwan exclusive?)

Shipping is a little killer, but idk, I thought it was worth it personally. Of course, it’s in traditional Chinese, so that might make things a bit difficult if you (like me) are a simplified reader ;;

The version on amazon is... kinda sus? I’ve never seen it before. Squinting at the cover, it looks like it’s also the same publisher (PS), but it’s kinda weird? If anyone knows differently, do say so in the notes!! I’m certainly not all-knowing.

Here is the only volume that I know of that’s been published in simplified Chinese. It comes with a little excerpt of the Gusu Lan rules :D (Please note that I haven’t actually purchased from this seller! I probably will eventually, but I just can’t vouch for it yet.)

ANYWAYS all that is to say, if none of those options are feasible for you, a version of the simplified text is available for free on luoxia. I’m not sure how accurate it is/exactly WHAT version (I’ve noticed a couple of minor typos/differences from the TW version? but nothing serious; I think it is the revised edition). The original raws on JJWXC are locked down and not available to purchase anymore (I believe). I’m linking all the official stuff above because it’s nice to support the author! (*´▽`*)

yo that story about ur great great grandma is rly cool. do you know anything else about her?

some! i know that she had a common-law marriage with her gardener/family friend but that she refused to let him live in her house so he had his own place on her property. my mom grew up calling her Big Mama and she spoiled her grandkids and great grandkids rotten. when she was in hospice (i forget what for) my grandfather came to see her and she said “alex, don’t you ever eat a whole pie by yourself again” in reference to something that happened when he was nine. she was also the only person allowed to call him alex
