One reason why developing interoception and establishing body trust is vital to our well-being: It is a very flawed idea to believe that the central nervous system is the main communication system in the body. In fact, the CNS resides IN the fascial system. It communicates much faster than the fastest nerve cell, transmitting intercellular communication, and can function as a superconductor. Fascia is the sensory system of our communication, the archive of buried memory. It also anticipates and prepares itself for change. "A fascial cell has not only memory but also the awareness of the mechanometabolic information it feels, and it has the anticipatory predisposition in preparing itself for alteration of its natural environment."
