    --- [ ♡ ] THE MAN IS A robot. He can turn off his receptors any time. But he chooses to inhale the incense, take in its musk. And he chooses to squint at the reflections in the ornaments rather than turn on the lights. Like everyone else, he sits at the pews. The only act of respect that doesn’t come naturally to him is how exactly he’s supposed to pray. 

    A look cast to his side calls his eyes towards a woman basking in the darkness. Whether or not she’s praying is something he can’t tell. He observes her all the same, however, allowing himself to adjust to her position, her posture, her dedication.
