Just caught up with ackley bridge.
This season it feels they started being more creative and abstract from having “flashmobs” to dream sequences. I’m mean if I hadn’t had the crash spoilt by YouTube I don’t know if I would have even noticed the focus on cars and sound of their engines. Despite that the first two episodes are remind me that this show is meant to be somewhat realistic. So even though it was frustrating that Missy never got to see what she could achieve academically or ambition it was realistic (Though I still feel a bit blue-balled storytelling wise).
Nevertheless onto greener pastures?
Today we get to see one of my season 2 plots. I really love Naveed and Cory I also am very aware that they are about to leave school and are still fairly young. I just hope that it is still a rounded story for both of them. I also hope there is no baiting for godsake. There’s nothing worse than fan service in my opinion cause it usually doesn’t hold a lot of substance undercutting what’s good about characters relationships.
I’m still going to watch this no matter what because representation is hard to find done right. I have watched a lot of shows and seen how an audience can cling to characters ignoring the flaws, unrealistic, cheesy and plain toxic messages just because it has a semblance of representation.
P.S. I also can’t wait to see what they do with Sam and her family. Even though I resent them I do think at this time in Britain it’s good to see this kind of stuff without giving people room to use the excuse that people just dismiss their views. Exposing this unhealthy thinking so plainly is important.
