Hi! As far as I’m aware I haven’t seen a particular place to buy them straight up.  I didn’t do anything particularly special - just some modifying. Depending on if you already have or can easily access some of the other materials, it’s probably even a pretty cheaper alternative to getting them customized. I used the following:

Blue High Top LED Shoes

I got the just on Amazon for around $30 USD, here is the direct link to the ones I got.

Orange Shoe laces

Pretty explanatory, easily retrievable on amazon, ebay, or local crafts shop that has colored shoe laces.

Paint

Literally, I just painted the entire rest of the design on by hand with cheap acrylic  - painstakingly but definitely worth it lol. Make sure to seal the paint with some kind of weather-proof sealant and paint with the shoe laces removed of course. It might help to use paint tape to avoid the LED soles or any other parts you don’t want painted.

I’m extra so I tried my best to copy the pattern as seen from the only reference available at the time, but just throw some splatters on there and you’re good fam.

Love your cosplays! Did you make the shirt for your Akira P4D outfit yourself? It looks awesome and I really want to do that version of him myself. Are there any places that have that available as a pattern?

Yes, I did make it myself, so I apologize–I don’t know of any other places that may have the pattern, but I’ll try to be helpful lol. I recreated the pattern myself in Illustrator, arranged, and printed them in Photoshop for iron on print out sheets. I did the same for Goro, as well as my Noctis!

There are many ways you could go about this–such as simply buying a customized shirt from a place to which you upload a pattern, as opposed to using iron out sheets like I did.

If it would help, here is a link to download (safe gdrive link) my PSD and the PNG version for Akira’s pattern, sized to span about 3 by 2 U.S. Letter sized (8.5″ x 11″) print out sheets, as well as the original vector SVG. Feel free to use and alter them as you desire!

If you aren’t familiar with or don’t have access to photoshop or illustrator, it’s no problem unless you want to alter the patterns I’ve made (see the screenshot of the individual stars as the SVG in Illustrator below). Otherwise, the PNG is the final raster image of the photoshop file.

Hi there! Two questions, for the Akechi/Akira cosplays did you use the same star design? And also I was wondering how you did printed the large designs. Did you just make small prints and overlapped them in order to create the larger designs or was there a different method that you use? (these cosplays are great I really want to do both of them! Thanks in advance for the help!)

Technically I didn’t use the same exact pattern, but altered Akechi’s pattern from Akira.

To answer your other question, as you will see in that other post, yes I did do it in small pieces–about 6 iron-on sheets. Rather than overlapped however, I printed them making sure they connected consecutively at their edges. If you need to or can’t get around it, overlapping iron-on sheets is fine as long as you are careful of any blank space overlapping or printed color that would otherwise darken from being layered.

If you do it this way, you may have to break up the patterns and arrange into a way printable for you and your printer!

Ahhhh! Your DAN Akechi is to die for. I was wondering if you could give some advice on how you made his shirt patterns, and necklace and hat??? Your skills are commendable and I would love to cosplay him this summer for a convention :3

My only general advice can really be applied to all of cosplay, but don’t be afraid to start from the cheapest and most basic of materials and build up from them. I generally don’t do anything too complex or expensive for things that don’t need to be!  I will try my best to explain my process, if that helps as advice lol

Sweater Pattern

NOTE: If using the iron-on method, make sure to distinguish buying the kind that are meant for light fabric rather than dark/colored fabric. The light kind will iron on with any empty area as transparent (the colored printed areas will be somewhat transparent too), while the dark kind will leave a solid white background.

For this, I used the light type because I actually only used the iron on pattern to act as a guide to paint over with Metallic Gold acrylic paint, as well as a guide for the paint tape haha. Paint tape is your straight friend.Those lines will be on point. If you plan on washing this (not by hand, that is), gold fabric paint is a better alternative if you can find it.

Necklace $wag Bling

The necklace is made of a few layers: bottom/base is just cardboard (can use foam board or anything similar) and the two top layers are 1/8″ thick EVA foam. Of course, you could also very much use the same as the base for these, I just wanted these to be thinner and lighter.

NOTE: Cardboard and foam boards have a softer or non-solid core than may make the edges look not very clean. I usually get around this by flattening hot glue to it as best as possible.

The chain is just a thin fake gold metal chain (shorted from original 45″ length). Sorry about that right wing, got a little messy.

Hat

I can’t take credit for this one–I bought a customized Gold Acrylic Lettered Snapback from amazon. I’ve also seen some cosplayers take the route of buying a blank black hat and painting on the letters.

If it’s not within your price range but still want the 3D effect, you could also go the route of using foamboard/cardboard/EVA foam to make the letters and attach them to a base hat (very cheap on ebay/amazon).

Lastly, don’t forget to top off your Akechi cosplay with some fluffy pancakes :pI hope this was helpful, but if any further questions arise my ask box is always open C:
