if you follow the blog, after awhile it’ll let you send fanmail and you can ask for it through there.
Cool, thanks, I'll do that! I had no idea it works that way.
"the writers aren't responsible for what happened to Beverly" UM, they WROTE it????. Like I get that there was budget issues and everything but they still conceived her character knowing she was ALWAYS GOING TO DIE and then they executed that death horribly and lazily mischaracterized her before she died and it's just like??? not to mention the gross display of her body that was their fault.
Exactly, not to mention Bryan Fuller could've chosen his words more carefully, remember that AV Club interview?, let's not go there...
Molly not being involved at all would be unfortunate, but if she's coming in later (even s4 later) I honestly think it's best. They can't handle the women they have already, and bringing Molly in to be what Alana was reduced to in s2 (a foil, a love interest/object of desire, basically there to provide insight into Hannibal/Will) would be a travesty. I'd rather they work on making characters like Alana, Freddie & Bedelia three-dimensional than bringing in another female they plan on being vapid.
As far as I know the plan’s changed, they are cramming the three books into one season (unless I’m confused, feel free to correct me) so there wouldn’t be any space for a Molly introduction in season 4 (unless Red Dragon continues until season 4), we know there will be a 1 year time-jump so the second half of season 3 would be the ideal time to introduce her, as for Molly potentially becoming a third wheel like Alana, I think that’s unavoidable given the fact that Will and Hannibal are the central dynamic and the actual writer ships them, so…
As for the other, that’s a good point, but we’ve seen what happened with the female characters in season 2 so that isn’t very promising, I don’t think Bryan Fuller sees the problem, he keeps going on and on about how he’s a feminist blah blah and his reaction to the criticism proves my point, he didn’t expect it and he didn’t accept it, so if he doesn’t see the problem I doubt he’ll fix anything.
Last but not least, we are also getting Lady Murasaki and he said there will be more female characters next season.
