It’s not the greatest color combo but they were the only two of this brand (Caron something or other) of yarn I had, and anything else in the stash that claimed to be the same weight just worked up like string in comparison. I get bored crocheting in one color, lol. It’s just practice, anyway! I’m using this pattern: https://youtu.be/SnxZEN9NL80
Kind of went into a crochet slump—I promised a couple of people some whales and sharks, and they’re getting them, I’m just uh how do you say. ADHD as fuck, plus avoidant, plus anxious about the post office because that’s a totally normal thing to be. (Sad thing is that the whales are done. I’m just stuck on step two: put the whales in a box. Also the “finish sharks” part. Anyway, this is why I’m not cut out to have an Etsy shop.)
ANYHOW, I finally found a velour-type yarn (Big Twist Plush from Joann Fabric) that isn’t fragile and shedding-prone, AND I can actually see the stitches! I made the first one (larger eyes) with a size 6 hook and the second one with a 4.5. There’s a pretty significant size difference even though the photos don’t really show it.
(Tagging in @traumacoins bc you’re so nice about my crochet 😅🌸✨)
All y’all! I made a shark!! ☺️🦈 the belly is a bit tricky because it’s a separate piece sewed on, but it’ll get better with practice ☺️🧶
(I haven’t knit anything in a while but @traumacoins here’s my latest yarn thing ☺️)
More whales! I have also finished a bisexuwhale and a rose pink whale.
Also put some @thelatestkate stickers on some empty medicine bottles to hold my crochet notions
I think they’re getting better! They’re definitely getting smaller as I become more accustomed to the pattern, lol. And thanks to @traumacoins they have names! Pink is Strawberry Sorbaby, mint is Shamrock Shake, and blue is Cloud Cake 🦈
Oh! Pattern is from Theresa’s Crochet Shop ☺️
The whole whale family, plus shark ☺️🐳🧶 @traumacoins
