She is endless, blue sky as far as the eye can see. She is comprised of stormy, roiling oceans, but the water can be welcoming. She is full of raging storms, violent conditions, but offers shelter to lost wanderers. She only gives, and has so much taken. She tells me, in hushed whispers, that she can feel herself dying slowly. Decaying from the inside out. Her only solace is the luminescent, gleaming face of her lover, whom she only sees one side of. The thought of a darker side of her lover weighs heavy on her mind. She has given so much, she tells me. She's not sure she can give any more. She holds such possibility, such a wonderful place for life to grow, but it's not as much of a blessing as it seems. She's the only one I've met so far who sacrifices so much for others, at the cost of her own body. She is the most interesting to watch, the way she and her lover intertwine and twirl around each other makes my own heart yearn for something as familiar and comforting. They regulate each other, she told me, keep each other grounded. She was once drawn in by a false promise, a gleaming woman showering her in light, but saw through the facade, and is unvarnished by that deceit. She is not as slender and graceful as the others, I notice. She is careful in the way she moves, but strong. Her beauty seems almost without edges, her colours bleeding into one another akin to a watercolour. Her dance is complicated, and she keeps her distance from past lovers, enthralled in her lunar lover's presence, however they only truly see one another once in a while, when the glow is blocked from her vision by her lover's face, and they can gaze upon one another freely. Her lover can only then truly admire the strength she has and what she gives so that others may live. But she knows her love can become turbulent if tested. There is a raw strength within Earth, a power never used cruelly, but often in the name of justice. Watching them gaze longingly and lovingly at one another as they twirl together makes everything seem a little warmer within me, and gives me hope that the cold darkness will not be the only thing I know.
