Increasing Expectations
Cosmic Dragons get larger as they become more experienced. Brand new cosmic dragons, called hatchlings, usually start quite small comparatively. Ria, having ascended by outgrowing her universe, is naturally very large for her experience level. A fact that was hidden by her not having the knowledge most hatchlings have from the start. At the time of this comic, she had pretty much caught up to the other hatchlings in skill, but to Kxaetl and the other hatchlings, it just appeared that she had simply grown incredibly fast. Of course, the reason Ria outgrew her universe in the first place was that the size of her dragon form could be fueled by others simply believing it'd continue to grow. An aspect she had assumed no longer applied here in the dragon plane. After all, it's not like she still has a dragon curse here... she just simply is a dragon. And yet... Maybe it was a bit reckless to assume that she was completely curse-free now. Or maybe it's not even a curse that causes it anymore? Maybe her dragon form in this plane innately feeds off that belief? She can't seem to prevent it, and it always had a bad habit of developing a self-sustaining feedback loop. It might be a bit before it wears off, which will make finding a place to rest inconvenient in the meantime. But she should eventually return to her natural size... just once she can find a place away from any that might further fuel it. At least Kxaetl seems optimistic about it.
