There's a visitor to the lab today, and it's Brett, after quite a gap. He's got a Cubchoo in his arms and a Deino at his side, "Axel!!! Lookit my new Pokemon! I got 'em while I was in Galar!"

Axel’s up and about today, and seeing Brett come through the door makes him grin. “Hey Brett!” He happily greets him, motioning him over so that he can get a close look at the new Pokemon he has. A Cubchoo and a Deino, huh?

“Careful with Deino-- I know you’ve got that experience with low-vision Pokemon, but they’ll be a real biter. It’s their best way of learning their environment!” As for Cubchoo, though? “You know, when Cubchoo’s uh... well, nose... thing... you can tell if they’re sick based on that.”

“So! What’ve you called them?”

Uxie has decided to play a few pranks today, one of which being teleporting Brett in the middle of Gordie’s gym challenge. Fun. A little help, leader?

“Gordie, someone’s in the challenge area without passing through the doors. They don’t have the detectors or anything.” Kiera’s voice crackles through the communications system. “What’s the way forward from here?”

Without passing through the doors... no detectors... “It’s not that Avery bloke again, right? Him and his Slowbro like causing trouble for other Gym Leaders--”

“No, it’s not Avery. He looks to be, uh... about nine years old, I’d say?”

“A kid? Hold on, I’m coming out.”

Gordie pushes his way into the challenge area, narrowing his eyes across the area.

“Barking this is, absolutely barking...” He strides across the challenge area with relative ease, considering he knows where each of the pitfalls are, to approach the boy. “Hey, you shouldn’t be out this far without the Trap Detectors.” He’s not annoyed at all-- just confused. How did someone get so far in without any sign of Psychic-type Pokemon? “Come on, I’ll lead you back, alright?”

Raihan was at the Hammerlocke Vault, ready to start another training session. Regardless of whether he was simply training or going into a serious battle, he was going to behave the same way: as passionately as possible.

‘Let the winds blow! Stream forward, Sandstorm!’ he called, sending out his Gigalith. The ability kicked in and sure enough, sand soon began to blow around the vault, making it much harder to see what was going on.

Bede’s eyes roam over the child before them before dipping back to his ID and double checking their name. “You are welcome to join your age group if you want to see what the gym is like, Brett. They’re going to observe a practice match today.” They hand back the child’s trainer ID with a smile. It’s not as smug as the one they’d had for the old lady in the matching pink shirt they’d been talking to before.

“Hey, Teresa. I’m going to take him to the spritzies before I head in back for the match. You’re on face.” They turn back to the old lady for a moment before stepping aside and offering the kid a space next to them. “You want to see how it works here, right? Do you have any fairies of your own, or just curious? Oh, maybe you’re a dragon specialist looking to scope out the competition. Devious. Smart.”

Teresa chuckles softly and waves them on. “Have fun, dears.”
