Thank you all for the past 4 years, it’s been wild!

It’s been 4 years since I’ve started my Pokemon Redesign project and I feel like a completely different person than when I started. I’ve hit all sorts of highs and lows and even though there were some breaks, this project has been a consistent throughout all of it.

While I was determined to finish it, it was really you guys that made it magical. I never expected to pick up the kind of following I have now and seeing how people would react was always a treat I looked forward to-- whether it was good, bad, or just straight up confusion. The positivity though was overwhleming and something I still have a hard time believing that I deserve but also something I value deeply beyond words, that I feel like I can never truly repay. 

I know not every design was a hit but each of them are my genuine attempt and I feel satisfied with this weird world that can now have a sense of closure. I know there will always be more Pokemon in the future and the redesigns will continue whenever that may be but I still feel this is a significant milestone. For once I feel proud of myself for getting this far, and you guys truely made it so much more exciting and wonderful to see it to the end, even though it isn’t ever really over.

In the future I’ll probably cover some of the remaining Beta Pokemon from Gen. 2 and we may even see a new project sprout up but I’m gonna hibernate from dailies for a while-- of course I’ll always be drawing and working on something though. 

I’m a huge sap and I can’t express myself good but I very much mean it when I say thank you for being here and thank you for being you!

Keepers of the Coast

“The Spring breeze has settled over the land for quite a while now, her gentle caress becoming an omen of encroaching death. While the larger towns look for unity, many on the outskirts have turned inward if they have not been overrun already. The coastal tribes, once known for their hospitality to travellers and sailors, have become unapproachable from any direction. 

Word spread that a Silver monstrosity washed up on their cove, and following in the footsteps of the Saint who tended to even Demons, they took in the wounded creature despite their fears. Tattered from the sea, they found what they believe to be their saviour, who strikes like lightning atop a perch of bushels and bones. As the eternal Spring beckons hungry beasts, the coastal tribes look to face Vernorexia with the crashing of waves and the lashing of wind.”

“Sitting haughty and callous atop a great tower as the shiniest rose sits preened above shrubs and weeds, the Iron Peak delvers bring out the newest monster they’ve plucked out of their bottomless mines. They dig all day and all night for metals and treasures, but have found a new calling as beast tamers. 

They are said to have committed a great sacrilege and are believed to have begun digging into the Holy Mountain, pulling out Demons caught in its hallowed permafrost. The folk of Iron Peak have always been simple and unambitious, and it’s more likely the Demons are the ones giving them orders, bewitching them into a marching routine so their newly risen masters can throw their weight around.”
