I see you stumbled along my blog. well hello, I am QUASAR ( or Jay , take your pick ) and I go by THEY/THEM pronouns. I am in est for my timezone but that rarely matters since I’m on here at all sorts of weird times. I work a full-time job, but I do try to find time to come on here on tumblr . it’s easier to find me using one of the methods below .

       LETTING OUT A LAUGH,  caro gives bucky a little sideways glance, brows raised.  ❝ we went out not even last week !  had a few drinks, dinner, it was a nice night. are you wanting another night like that ? ❞  he asked, genuinely wondering if maybe the demon wanted to go out more than they stayed in.  ❝ or is there another type of ‘night out’ you want ? ❞

     he spies the look Caro gives him , only to huff out his own laughter when the other calls him out . the demon relaxes his shoulders , fingers drawing up to the warlock’s shoulder , lazily rubbing against them . “ I just like showing you off , and making sure everyone knows you’re mine . ” he nips at Caro’s neck in a playful gesture , over a healing bruise he left there only a few days ago , melting into him the next moment . “ but . yes , like that . I like those nights out . I like seeing this world of yours . I coop myself up in here a lot , and when I leave , there’s a lot of things I tend to get myself into trouble with . ” he isn’t adjusted to the human world entirely , even after this long of being on his plane of existence since Caro had summoned him .

      ❝ HOW SHOULD WE TAKE IT SERIOUS, THEN ?  more serious than ‘two gorgeous creatures spending time together’ ?  and you know when it’s just the two of us, you don’t need the glamour, my love, ❞  he replied with a light hum, leaning his head against bucky’s.

     he huffs , just a soft laugh , the glamour flickering and fading off from around him , easily revealing the horns as his head leans to gently bump it against Caro’s . “ take it serious by maybe going into public once or twice ? ” it’s the possessive side of the demon that surges at times like this , that wants to show off that the warlock is his .

     he groans , just a little , letting his glamour flicker around him before his head gently thumps against his lover’s shoulder . “ we should still take date night serious in some way , you know . I even put on a glamour for you , but I’m starting to think I shouldn’t have . ”

                  𝙏𝙤𝙣𝙮  𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙  𝙋𝙚𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧  𝙖𝙩  𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩  𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬  ,    maybe  not  who  it  was  but  he  wouldn’t  be  surprised  if  she  suspected  that  he’d  found  them  .    he  hadn’t  resumed  the  search  after  Rogers  got  Bucky  back  .    the  redhead  hadn’t  been  around  the  compound  ,    SI  was  still  stationed  in  the  tower  and  that’s  where  her  focus  and  place  was  when  she  wasn’t  looking  for  him  ,    but  Tony  also  wouldn’t  be  surprised  if  she  took  one  look  at  the  former  assassin  and  knew  .    Pepper  was  one  of  the  few  left  alive  who’d  ever  seen  his  scars  .    plus  ,    she  was  smart  .    pulling  his  shirt  back  over  his  head  ,    the  glow  of  the  reactor  dimmed  but  still  peaking  through  the  fabric  ,    Tony  turned  back  to  the  other  .      ❝    so  he  wants  me  to  hack  into  the  base’s  system  ?    what  exactly  am  i  looking  for  ?    ❞      Tony  could  understand  Rogers’  concern  for  his  friend  ,    and  Tony  had  his  own  concerns  about  the  whole  thing  ,    but  Bucky  was  capable  of  making  his  own  decisions  .      ❝    i  mean  ,    i  could  get  a  scan  of  the  place  ,    but  realistically  that  can  only  go  so  far  .    it  wouldn’t  hurt  to  have  a  guide  ,    if  you  want  to  come  along  .    ❞

     his shoulders rise and then fall , a languid shrug as he waits another moment or two before looking at Stark again , seeing the shirt over his upper half now . his eyes are drawn to the glow of the reactor only briefly , his hand coming up to his own chest , over scarring he’s never found the source of , before he locks eyes with the genius . “ anything you can find that’s useful . other locations , files on projects . ” another shrug , and he exhales a little . “ if I come along , it could be dangerous . Steve has a point . me being exposed to HYDRA can only bring bad things with it . ” and who’s to say the place is even abandoned . he knows they’re looking for him even now , and always will be . gently , he worries his lower lip between his teeth , sighing the next moment as his arms cross over his chest instead . “ if I go , you’ll be the one listening to Steve bitch and moan , because I know he will . ”

     the rain isn’t uncommon here , but a downpour like this generally scatters people left and right , with coat collars turned up and umbrellas held close to their heads as best they could while they flocked to find shelter . 

     he rests in a back alley at the moment , blinking droplets out of his eyes , leaning his head back against grungy brick before his eyes close , and he breathes out a shallow sigh . he likes days like this , where he can chase away the thoughts and demons and just busy himself in only finding his way to the next place . right now though , it’s hard to find the next place when he doesn’t know where that is , and the rain is so heavy at times it makes it hard to see more than ten feet in front of him . 

     so it startles him when someone comes into the alley mouth , standing there like an imposing figure , and his head turns toward them , brows furrowing and fingers curling into a fist on his metal arm , readying himself . “ who’s there ? ” it’s a pretty stupid question to ask , all things considered , but he’s always ready for a fight , if only because fighting is the only thing he knows right now .

                  ❝    —   why  didn’t  you  call  for  me  ?    ❞      he  asked  quietly  ,    and  more  calmly  than  before  .    the  mutant’s  senses  were  stretched  out  as  far  as  they  could  go  ,    and  if  he  wasn’t  careful  he  could  end  up  with  a  migraine  ,    but  in  that  moment  he  didn’t  care  .      ❝    are  you  hurt  ?    ❞

     he hadn’t thought of Ben’s reaction , of how the other could feel . he had only thought about securing the area and making sure Ben was safe . but now , he worries that he had worried the other too much , and his fingers reach , taking Ben’s hands in his own as he looks at him , subconsciously attempting to get the other to breathe with him , to take in breaths and let them out . to time them so he can calm down more .

     “ because I didn’t want you hurt , ” he murmurs , and he draws Ben in closer , pulling him against his chest and wrapping his arms around him as his own eyes close . he aches , every breath hurts , but he’ll be fine in a few days . “ sore , but nothing life threatening , ” he admits , and he runs his fingers through Ben’s hair , keeping his eyes shut . “ breathe with me , ” he finally says , pressing his nose into Ben’s hair next , taking calmer breaths himself . “ ... I think it’s time to look at my arm , to see if there’s anything there that can track me . I --- ” his voice cracks .

     he can’t bear the thought of being the reason something happens to Ben .

                  𝙚𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙧  𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨  𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨  𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩  𝙩𝙝𝙚  𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙧  𝙢𝙖𝙣’𝙨  𝙖𝙗𝙙𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣  ,    before  sliding  around  to  his  sides  as  he  was  pulled  close  .      ❝    you  look  great  .    ❞      Tony  smirked  ,    head  tilting  with  a  soft  sigh  .    his  smirk  turned  into  a  small  frown  as  he  tried  to  recall  the  time  ,    clearing  his  throat  quietly  as  his  hands  smoothed  up  Bucky’s  sides  .      ❝    i  had  …    waffles  ,    i  think  .    ❞      Tony  replied  ,    before  JARVIS  chimed  in  around  them  .      <<    you  had  blueberry  waffles  approximately  9  hours  ago  ,    sir  .    >>      Tony  scowled  and  glared  up  at  the  ceiling  .      ❝    no  one  asked  for  your  input  ,    J  .    ❞      <<    my  apologies  ,    sir  .    i  was  merely  elaborating  on  your  behalf  for  Sergeant  Barnes’  benefit  .    >>

     having Tony close is always like a soothing balm ; a heat that spreads over him and deep into his bones . it’s calming , and something he’s picked up on over time being around the other . lazily , his fingers roam over Tony’s back ( both flesh and metal alike ) , before he snorts a little bit with a soft laugh . “ yeah ? I figured a new look would be good . the undercut is nice .. feels really good . ” the bun is just a bonus ; it gets his hair out of his face .

     a brow arches as he waits on an answer concerning the food , before the other brow joins as he gets the reply . he opens his mouth to speak , only to glance up at the ceiling too , smiling a little . “ thank you , Jarvis . ” the smile fades as he looks back down at the mechanic , moving his arms so he can cup his face . “ Tony , baby doll , we gotta get some food in you . time to go eat . we can order in and binge somewhere on a couch , if you want . ” just laze about and eat , maybe watch a movie , just enjoy each other’s company .

                  𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮’𝙙  𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮  𝙛𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙  𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙨  𝙖𝙣𝙙  𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩  𝙝𝙞𝙢  𝙞𝙣  ,    but  Tony  had  left  Steve  to  deal  with  his  friend  with  the  promise  that  they  could  come  to  him  if  he  was  needed  .    Tony  would  be  lying  if  he  said  he  wasn’t  interested  in  getting  a  closer  look  at  the  arm  he’d  heard  about  .    prosthetic  limbs  that  advanced  weren’t  something  that  had  been  seen  in  the  medical  field  ,    but  of  course  the  big  scary  evil  organization  would  keep  that  medical  marvel  to  themselves  .    Tony  was  curious  as  to  how  it  worked  and  how  it  connected  with  the  brain  ,    but  lost  in  his  fascination  he  overlooked  the  one  key  detail  about  the  arm  .    namely  ,    which  arm  it  was  .    if  he  had  ,    it  probably  would’ve  sparked  a  different  sort  of  curiosity  within  the  mechanic  .                   𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚  𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚  𝙣𝙤  𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨  𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩  𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨  𝙖𝙣𝙙  𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜  𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩  𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝  ,    Tony  was  currently  flipping  through  the  paperwork  Pepper  had  given  him  the  night  before  ,    figuring  that  now  that  Barnes  was  found  and  secure  ,    he  could  get  to  it  before  Pepper  got  to  him  .    the  compound  was  still  underway  ,    the  conversion  from  a  SI  storage  facility  to  fully  operational  hero  central  almost  complete  and  the  subject  of  the  paperwork  Pepper  stacked  on  his  desk  before  leaving  back  for  the  tower  .    Tony  was  still  debating  if  he  wanted  to  keep  the  tower  running  as  the  Avenger’s  tower  or  convert  it  back  to  a  Stark  tower  ,    though  that  was  a  decision  he  could  deal  with  later  .                   𝙝𝙚’𝙙  𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣  𝙤𝙣  𝙝𝙞𝙨  𝙬𝙖𝙮  𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠  𝙩𝙤  𝙩𝙝𝙚  𝙡𝙖𝙗  𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣  𝙝𝙚  𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙙  𝙝𝙞𝙨  𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚  called  out  ,    looking  up  from  the  paperwork  at  the  sound  of  the  Captain’s  voice  .    the  smaller  man  came  to  a  stop  ,    before  taking  a  step  towards  the  super  soldier  pair  with  a  winning  smile  .      ❝    well  ,    i  heard  you  made  it  in  safely  .    ❞      his  gaze  is  drawn  down  to  the  metal  arm  as  he  folds  his  own  across  his  chest  ,    the  documents  resting  over  the  reactor  and  covering  the  blue  glow  .    his  smile  fell  into  a  frown  at  the  state  of  it  .    he  still  didn’t  know  much  about  it  but  Tony  figured  that  had  to  hurt  ,    the  weight  of  it  alone  based  on  the  way  Barnes  was  holding  himself  had  to  be  a  burden  too  .                   𝙩𝙝𝙚  𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣  𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝  𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙙  𝙖𝙣𝙙  𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙  𝙝𝙞𝙢  ,    and  his  arms  fell  as  he  took  a  step  forward  ,    stopping  just  short  of  the  pair  as  he  looked  up  at  the  dark  haired  man  with  furrowed  brows  .      ❝    what  happened  here  ?    did  this  happen  on  the  way  in  ?    ❞      his  hand  hovers  a  little  away  from  the  arm  ,    not  wanting  to  touch  without  permission  or  lest  he  accidentally  cause  the  other  more  pain  .      ❝    we  should  get  down  to  the  lab  ,    i’ll  have  to  run  a  scan  to  get  a  better  idea  as  to  what’s  inside  and  see  what  needs  fixing  and  how  .    it  might  take  me  a  while  to  do  a  complete  scan  ,    but  if  it’s  causing  you  too  much  pain  i  can  try  to  do  what  i  can  to  patch  up  the  worst  of  it  and  figure  out  the  rest  later  ?    ❞

     the glow is hidden by papers now , and as curious as he is , his mind wanders elsewhere when Tony steps close . the flesh arm tightens , muscles coiling , his shoulder lifting a little defensively as he shoots a glance towards Rogers , who’s only smiling warmly and greeting the other . Stark . he knows that name from somewhere . despite being away from HYDRA for over a year , there are too many memories he still hasn’t been able to recover properly . it’s an infuriating sense , like trying to get a kernel of popcorn from between your teeth and failing miserably .

     he needs to remember , he knows he does .

     “ no , not in the way in . I found him like this , ” Steve says , glancing to Bucky and furrowing his brows as he does . “ wanna fill us in ? ” 

     the sparks still dance every so often when he tries to move his arm , and he draws in a breath , closing his eyes as he does . “ HYDRA left trackers in my arm , I removed them . ” it’s as simple as that , and as he reopens his eyes , he glances to Steve , seeing a myriad of emotions playing across his face , including a look of horror . “ you did it to yourself ?! ” Bucky scowls slightly at the hitch in the blond’s voice . “ ... I didn’t want them to find me again . ”

     he looks back at Tony , finally processing the rest of his words . “ ... will it be safe ? ” he doesn’t know how the arm works himself , how much of a nightmare it is engineering wise . tangled deep into his spinal cord and brain stem , bolted into bone .

     he worries his lower lip between his teeth , feeling the worry in his belly , the nervousness in his veins . he doesn’t like being alone after nightmares , or after panics . after any sort of episode that makes him doubt himself and the integrity of his mind . this is one of those times , and he can’t help how his eyes snap upward to focus on the blond , staring at him for a long moment before he looks away .

     guilt wars with his want to keep someone nearby , and he gives in to the guilt first . 

     “ you don’t have to stay . I know there’s a lot you have to do . ” hasn’t he caused enough issues , being around like he is ? he’s a highly skilled assassin , a mark that many had wanted dead . now he just invites trouble no matter where he goes , it seems . he doesn’t need to bring that trouble here too .

     he looks a little startled , mainly from the outburst from the other , before his fingers reach . gently , he runs them through Ben’s hair , only to pull him in close before he nuzzles against his neck in a soothing gesture . “ but I’m here now . a little banged up , a little bruised .. but here . ” he still has a long way to go in remembering anything about himself , but lately he seems so much more .. human , and less weapon . maybe it’s because he’s around Ben , and not constantly being wiped .

     he draws in a slow breath , one that makes his ribs creak internally in protest as he tries not to wince too hard about it . he’s sore , but that’s what he gets for going out on his own to patrol the perimeter . “ we’re safe now , that’s all that matters . no one knows where we are . ”

     a snort leaves him , heavy , before his eyes sweep over toward the archer . for a long moment , he’s silent , only to groan and lean himself back as he stretches out . “ that’s putting it mildly . ” they’re both covered in bruises and wounds , but that’s what happens when they go on missions together . even when they’re alone , they seem to attract trouble . putting them both on a mission ? yeah . trouble times infinity .
