Best cosplay compliment: being at my very first con, in my very first cosplay, and being stopped for pictures 48 times in one day

Cosplay compliment: Last Christmas I made my very first cosplay, as RGB from The Property of Hate. It took several extensive days of hard work, but I managed to get it presentable. I was a bit nervous at first because it was my very first time cosplaying AND my character isn’t relatively well known. However, every five seconds while walking around someone would ask for my picture, and several people even recognized my cosplay! One cosplayer squealed really loud when she saw me, and asked if she could hug me. Normally I don’t like hugs, but I decided to say yes, and she gave me a SUPER tight hug-and I didn’t mind it the least. It made me happy beyond belief that I made someone that happy with my cosplay.

Best Cosplay Compliment: I remember last year I made a Sailor Barnaby crossover for T&BxSailor moon. The shoes kinda fell apart and I thought it looked crappy, but I posed anyways. No one knew who I was, but I expected that. So later that day, I went to a Q&A for one of the bands for the con, and at the end I went up to get signatures, and all the girls at once were like “KAWAII KAWAII SAILOR MOON!” And then one girl took my hand and said “Handmadeo?” and I said yes and they all screamed out “SUGOI SUGOI KAWAII KAWAII” It made me feel alot better, even though they thought I was sailor moon xD; But its the best compliment I could have received about a costume. Just goes to show that if you go out there with confidence and do your best, you will be recognized! Btw, the band was Gacharic Spin for anyone curious.

My favorite compliments I’ve gotten—and it’s really weird because it has happened for two different cosplays—I was walking the artist alley and an artist stopped me and gave me a Madoka button/pin while I was cosplaying Madoka and at a different con, a different artist gave me a Lust button/pin when I was cosplaying Lust and it was just so sweet and generous and I was so happy.

Cosplay Compliments: Probably the most meaningful (and therefore the best) compliments I’ve received were at my first anime convention (Sakura-Con) while I was dressed as Amu Hinamori. A bunch of people came up to me asking to give me a hug. Some even said I was the perfect height for the character. My outfit wasn’t the best since it was the first costume I ever made myself, but they told me it was great that I tried and it turned out so well. Their support really inspired me to improve and make bigger and better cosplays. :)

Cosplay Compliment: This one is pretty small, but it made my day all the same. I was at my very first Comic Con, and I was dressed as Ezio from Assassin's Creed, just walking around downtown near the con in the morning. I passed by a guy on a crosswalk who looked my costume up and down, then just started a slow clap. He told me my cosplay was amazing, I thanked him and told him it had taken nearly three years to finish. He said that my work really showed and I've never felt so proud of my work!

Cosplay Compliments: years ago I cosplayed as Hiro from Digimon World for Anime North. I honestly didn’t expect too many people to notice me but a lot of people ended up noticing me! I think one of the best things was I had a group of friends approach me saying they wanted to take a picture with me because they used to play Digimon World together as children and that I completely made their day after making them reminisce about their childhood. It honestly made me happy knowing I made someone’s day excellent!
