A little behind the scenes of the hat making process. The Submas hat badge will essentially be a 6.5cm enamel pin that is fastened to the face of the hat. And when I say fastened, I mean pretty much bolted on there. You won't have to worry abut it falling off, and since it will be metal it is long lasting.

This is a mock up of the badge rendered so that a 3D mold can be made. It will be plated and filled with correct colors of enamel before being attached to the hat.

A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE

I restocked Phoenix Wright hats for the first time since 2016. There are now two versions - the standard and one made with a looser knit and lighter yarn in an attempt to be more breathable at them there all-day summertime cons.

Both version come complete with the O-face pin and they're double-thick so they are definitely warm and good for cold weather.

Get 'em while supplies last. I'm fatigued by them after making so many so I won't be stocking them again for a while.

A Hat in Time Cosplay: Hat Kid

I posted these photos a while ago on my Instagram and twitter but I still wanted to share them here. I’ve been working on a Hat Kid Cosplay since my brother introduced me to the game in December.

In March I began working on Hat Kid’s hat, it took about week to complete. I taped card stock together to create the base of the hat, glued the rim of a paper plate to create the hat’s brim, and a piece of cardboard for the top. Then I reinforced the hat using papermache. This was my first time using papermache and I found that a glue base was easier to work with but a flour base dried much sturdier. When I felt the hat was sturdy enough I bought some sheets of purple felt and some ribbon and hot glued everything together.

Overall I’m extremely happy with how the hat came out. I’ll be sure to post more progress images as more pieces are created.
