A Hat in Time Cosplay: Hat Kid
I posted these photos a while ago on my Instagram and twitter but I still wanted to share them here. I’ve been working on a Hat Kid Cosplay since my brother introduced me to the game in December.
In March I began working on Hat Kid’s hat, it took about week to complete. I taped card stock together to create the base of the hat, glued the rim of a paper plate to create the hat’s brim, and a piece of cardboard for the top. Then I reinforced the hat using papermache. This was my first time using papermache and I found that a glue base was easier to work with but a flour base dried much sturdier. When I felt the hat was sturdy enough I bought some sheets of purple felt and some ribbon and hot glued everything together.
Overall I’m extremely happy with how the hat came out. I’ll be sure to post more progress images as more pieces are created.
