Don't ever look at a costume and think anything was easy. You all liked my wings breakdown from yesterday so here's the breakdown if the rest of the costume. With almost the same amount of money spent and double the time this is the true stand out of the costume. Everyone things the wings are the most impressive thing, but to me, they are actually the least. The amount of work and effort, and new skills learned makes it standout over the wings. I specifically didn't want any foam or worbla armor. I wanted this to look like functional armor. Leathers, and scales and metallics. I can't even begin to describe how much work and frustration I had while making this. A costume hasn't gotten the best of me since the 1st version of snow whites collar, but this was definitely a challenge for me. Figuring out all the little pieces, what fabrics to use and what pattern to put them in. Plus I thought myself leather work! This wasn't my first time working with leather, but this was my first time without instruction, and making up the patterns myself. This was also my first time making shoes! That's right! I made those gladiator sandles!!! I am so proud of them and how well they held together. Sidenote: a bulk of materials (resin, molding supplies, ECT) are not pictured here. I sculpted, molded and cast a brand new headdress. And it, unfortunately, wasn't engineered well and it snapped in half the night before the con. I was very sad and frustrated with it, and needed up wearing my old foam headpiece, but I will eventually use the molds I made and make another new one. --- #hawkgirl #hawkgirlcosplay #cosplaywip #cosplaybts #axdoeshawkgirl #cosplaybreakdown #cosplanner https://www.instagram.com/p/BqDT6aKhB84/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1gnv7t5swm4qx
