i am so disappointed...
it is hard to see, but i know it is always there. why are fellow cosplayers always putting one another down for being amazing, fun, and creative!? i am a huge supporter of “inaccurate” cosplays. i love when people add fun accessories or spice it up and make it their own! cosplay has so much self expression and creativity at the very core of this hobby. i wish we would support people being themselves and having fun instead of commenting on how it isn’t “accurate” or how it is “silly”. make silly faces! exaggerate yourself and movements! put 20 clips in your hair/wig! have fun makeup! make your cosplay your own. it is after all your cosplay... not anyone else’s!
i know it is hard (i especially feel this) to not be effected by the numbers and people’s comments, but cosplay should be fun. we get lost sometimes on social media looking for love and approval from others. remember to always have fun and be yourself even when dressing up as someone else entirely!
