It’s been AGES since I taught a cosplay class (last November at big fandom Greenville to be exact) so I’m happy to announce that I’ll be working with @upstatesccosplay on December 2nd, teaching “introduction to pattern altering” at the Joann’s on Haywood Road in Greenville! This will be an intermediate level class, but everyone is welcome! I can also give tips on how to read patterns for beginners too! The event page will be on Facebook for signups soon, so I can get an estimated head count beforehand. Today’s #cosplaywip photos. The first is my #artdeco #harleyquinn dress I’m designing. I managed to get her 4 Diamond design into the front of the flapper dress. The second picture is my first few ideas for her dress bodice. The third is the bit of stitching I did on my punk #roguexmen jacket patch. I REALLY hated to do this, but I had to cancel my trip to AWA this year. I had an unexpected medical bill come up that's gonna take up my con money to pay off. I handed the #plussizecosplay meetup to the host of Cosfluff101, so the event is in good hands! I also have two local events I'm teaching at in the next 3 months- I'm partnering with @geekoutgames to teach a free in-store "cosplay basics" class next month, then I'll be running two panels at @bigfandomgreenville "cosplay sewing basics" and "cosplay pattern making" this November! I'm REALLY excited to get back to teaching, and both BFG & Geek Out Games are great groups I want to donate my time to. #cosplaysewing #cosplaypatternmaking #bigfandomgreenville2017

I talked to a staff member last night, asking which one I should submit, & they said both! I'll be teaching these two classes on Saturday at @bigfandomgreenville this November. "Cosplay Sewing Basics" will be exactly that- the basics. This is for beginners in sewing. My second class "Cosplay Pattern Making" is for people who already have the basics down pat & want to learn pattern drafting & pattern draping for cosplay. Because sometimes, no pattern exist for the costume you want to make! There were no store bought patterns for cosplay when I started 13 years ago, and I learned the hard way how to make them myself.
