Cosplaying in 2016 - overview. 

Had a lot of fun cosplaying this past year! Four new cosplay projects and quite a handful of cons and shoots :) 

-New cosplays: Did final shots of Elsa (January), two new River Song (Doctor Who) cosplays thanks to the THORS special (February, July), and finally achieved my ongoing dream of cosplaying Missy (Doctor Who) :D

Also, my first crossover, Space Gandalf (Tenth Doctor cosplaying as Gandalf)

-In progress: Fem!Spock

-Conventions and events: River Song (THORS jacket outfit) (Japan Weekend February, Cifimad February), Fem!Sherlock (Otaku March, Sherlocked convention September), Fem!Tenth Doctor and Space Gandalf (Spanish Tolkien Society conventions, May and December), Noldorin Rivendell Elf OC (purple dress) (Spanish Tolkien Society conventions, May and December), Missy (Sherlocked September, Expocómic December), Casual HP Gryffindor cosplay (for Fantastic Beasts), Elven ranger (Expocómic December), Noldorin Rivendell Elf OC (sage green dress) (Spanish Tolkien Society convention, May).

-Shoots: River Song (THORS silver dress) (July), Noldorin Rivendell Elf OC (sage green dress) (July),  Noldorin Rivendell Elf OC (purple dress) (October), Missy (DW Experience September) 

-Projects for 2017: fem!Spock (February 2017), Jedi (May 2017).

 Other potential projects include fem!Bones (because I love McCoy and hell, the uniform’s the same as Spock’s and I get to be grumpy while posing for pics xD!), Merida (which I’m stalling for ever xD). Also probably the orange velvet Elven dress/Arien. Also really want to cosplay Jaylah in the near future, we’ll see how time and budget goes :D

2016 was highly disappointing for costumes for me. I had to cancel several things I actually bought the supplies for and started on because my neck injury was acting up so badly (thanks to me being more active due to Pokemon Go). Cancelled plans included Bellatrix, Sheik and Queen Serenity, which I promise to finish next year since I have everything for them already. I am still proud of myself, though, because I did what I promised myself I would do someday: make some armor! Liliana and Avacyn both had armor, the latter of course being the most intense and detailed I've ever made. I also tackled some dream costumes of mine: Kahlan's purple outfit, which was hell to make (thanks pleather) and Anastasia, which I've wanted since I saw the movie as a princess-obsessed 7-year-old in 1997.

Goals for next year... finish the costumes I failed on this year, make something else with armor and make something from Overwatch (Widowmaker is first). I'd also like to do at least one more 'indulge myself' dream costume, because I tend to cherish those the most. I’ll post a 2017 plans list soon.
