Even though I'm an astrophysicist (in a current Project Hail Mary hyperfixation 🚀✨💙👎), so far I've only done one piece of actual space art, a nebula & star cluster watercolour for the 2023 IG Spacetober challenge ✨🌟💫🌌. I quite enjoyed doing this painting, and adding the stars with white paint splashes and a toothbrush was so satisfying 🎨✨. Definitely want to make more space art in general (and Project Hail Mary fanart in particular). Also featuring bi colours, so happy Pride month 😁💖💜💙!

A year ago we attended the 2025 Estelcon (8-11th May 2025), the annual convention of the Spanish Tolkien Society, held in Canet de Berenguer (Valencia, Spain) ✨😊📚🎶📸🌊.

Flower embroidery practice (2022-25) 😃🌸🍃✨ (III - August 2025 -May 2026). Finally done! I started this project back in July 2022, on and off, practising with some flower designs on a piece of linen, following tutorials by slowly_embroidery (IG/YouTube). I'm generally keeping the main design and embroidery stitches from the tutorials, but changing some colours and sizes and adding some personal touches as well 🌸🌻. . FInal design includes some large blue flowers, a tulip, a design of leaves and sequin+beaded flowers, a bouquet with leaves and flower beads, cast-on stitch '3D' purple flowers alongside some leaves, a 'bouquet' of ferns/long leaves, a purple heather/lavender design, some beaded yellow leaves, a rose and a blue pansy. . 🌻 Stitches: -BLUE FLOWERS: Outline stitch for the stalks, long and short straight stitch for the flowers, lazy daisy stitch and French knot stitch for the leaves. -SEQUIN+BEADED PURPLE FLOWERS+LEAVES: outline stitch for the stalks, herringbone stitch for the leaves, French knot stitch for the centre of the flowers and some small leaves, and two types of beads and sequins for the flowers. -TULIP: Outline stitch for the stalk, long and short straight stitch for the tulip. -BEADED BOUQUET: Satin and padded satin stitch for the leaves, outline stitch for the branches, and various types of beads for the flowers. -3D FLOWERS: Cast-on stitch for the flowers (the most complicated stitch I've tried to date), and herringbone/leaf stitch for the leaves. -FERN BOUQUET: Split stitch. -HEATHER: Outline stitch for the stem, lazy daisy stitch for the flowers. -YELLOW LEAVES: herringbone/leaf stitch + beads. -ROSE: Stem rose stitch -PANSY: Split stitch for the stem, long and short straight stitch for the leaves and petals.

Missy's 'World Enough and Time' (Doctor Who, S10) majestic feather monstrousity of a hat that I made in 2019 😁✨👒☂️💜💜

This was my second millinery hat-related project (after I made a 15th Century hennin from scratch for my Burgundian outfit), but the first time decorating a hat with feathers, ribbon and fake fruit. I quite like the structure of the hat, and especially all the different layers of feathers of different lengths, colours and textures. It turned out even more extravagant than Missy's original one, I think, but definitely not sorry, because wearing it is so much fun 😁!

Imbolc ’s lá fhéile Bríde shona daoibh! The start of February marks the festivity of Imbolc, the beginning of Spring in the Celtic calendar, and it is celebrated in Ireland as Brigid’s Day 🎶☀️🍃 . The last three edits of my 2019 closet cosplay/reenactment of the Irish goddess Brighid, solar fire goddess associated with poetry and inspiration, fertility and healing, smithwork, crafts and music, and warlike protection. Starting the year with a very belated post! My 2021 Chase Arwen cosplay test shots, featuring some 2025 edits ✨⚔️🐎 . Graphite and sanguine drawing of Nefertiti, Ancient Egyptian Queen (and possibly also temporarily Pharaoh) (finished September 2025). Experimented with a grid for the lineart, I think I prefer my usual method of just going for it with a ruler, although I still need to try it out more, and the grid did help with the angles and inclination.
