Okay, so I went a little berserk on the shield design...I made the inlay a bit more complicated than it really is (looking at other art, looks like I misread the image) so I’ll do another template and compare the two- and see which one I like better. The tracery looks a little floofy and flowy to me, but not unappealing. It makes me think French architectural embellishments prior to the French Revolution. I dunno why, but it does. *shrug* I /HAVE/ determined, that this shield is gonna be pretty good size. Based on the Roegadyn from the art I like best (also the Roe from the FFXIV: End of an Era cinematic- look it up, its lovely and sad and...amazing) the shield should come from just below my knee up to mid bicep in height when standing at rest if the shield is vertical.
