#i have left myself two weeks to embroider a toga picta #a mistake? yes its quite likely but i have my cunty red gogo boots and fishnet stockings :]#so that will have to count for something #costuming progress

2:30 in the morning way past my bedtime but I finished my toga! So close to finishing the antony costume. Just gotta do the fur stola tomorrow. And a couple more meanders to embroider.

Antony costume is for real happening!!!

I had the urge to cut it to mini-dress length and immediately regretted it. Luckily I had enough in the width to simply turn it sideways. Crisis averted. Faux fur ordered :] that may be hint enough of which antony costume I'm attempting.

Senatorial lingerie acquired! Not exactly the same as the inspo drawing but close enough. You all may or may not eventually see it depending on how brave I feel one month from now hehe. Time to get serious and get my striped tunic sewn. And learn how to free motion embroider with my sewing machine. All totally doable I am sure.

Plotting my caesar fit for pride :] and mulling around with some ideas. The fabric I bought for the tunic praetexta is the same for the toga and as it turns out quite sheer. So I am considering whether I should do senatorial lingerie under it.

I studied lynn's beautiful lfc drawing and decided to brave the sex shop since that seemed like the right place to find such things. I actually found a garter belt the perfect shade of purple. Can't decide whether to go with the original three piece vision or the very cute bridal one piece I found. Much to ponder.

Making progress on the antony costume. Started on the embroidery, which I may have underestimated the time it would take.

But important question for whoever cares to answer. So I'm doing something inspired by the costume below from Cleopatra (1963). Very loosely inspired and simplified to my meager abilities. Instead of the top fancy belt layer I was going to use a regular brown belt. But I was struck by an idea after running in a certain stall at the ren fair. Body harness. Something like the one below. So help me decide :]

#ignore the top part i have things laid out but not sewn down at all so it gets a little finnicky #anyways. cannot believe im actually making headway on this project given it’s the. first costume ive ever tackled myself #costuming progress

Firstly, AAAA IT'S GOING TO SNOW AAAAAAAA Secondly, got some progress down on the design for AB costume, which I'm hesitantly dubbing Darth Imperious for the time being. (Yes I lifted the name from Sith Inquisitor storyline, bite me. It's work in progress.) Crown of the saber is v reminiscent of some buildings in Boston I have vague memories of, and I'm trying to invoke a... can't remember the name of the art style, but it's the one that's related to Art Deco with all the hard lines. I'm pleased with the look so far, through I'm going to have trouble incorporating both a button and a sliding panel. Lastly, I still hate working with my current co-worker.
